thomas
tbh I just don't get the mitro love but I don't outright hate him or anything. Just think he's an average striker at best and limited further by his temper. The passionate radgie archetype doesn't appeal to me.

Ronaldo
Regarding the temperament, he'll grow up. Especially now that we've got a proper manager he can respect and learn from. I strongly doubt he'll ever be 'great' but he's certainly good at holding the ball up and bringing others into play and he will get goals. Perhaps not enough to to justify the team being built around him but his finishing will only improve too. Not getting the no.9 shirt is the best thing that could've happened to him this summer. He'll play both without pressure and the incentive to earn it over time. We'll see a better NUFC with him available again.

nemtizz
Who at 21 years old wasn't an 'average striker' besides Lukaku?
thomas
Who at 21 years old wasn't an 'average striker' besides Lukaku? He's average (PL quality) for 21. In 5 years time he'll be average for 26. The statement was about potential. End of the day, I don't think he will develop that much more; many apparently do and that's fine, I'm not really knocking anyone's opinion but just saying I don't see it. Guest chopey
I still think he'll take this league by the throat and wont leave go until he has 20 goals
Tiotes Witch Doctor
I still think he'll take this league by the throat and wont leave go until he has 20 goals As long as he doesn't take any opposing teams players by the throat at the same time then I'm all for it! You could try, but you would not be successful.
Kanj
We get Mitro back now, and I'm looking forward to him and Gayle playing together. We're going to be deadly with them.

Figures 1-0 Football
Rafa saying that Mitro 'gives us something different' suggests to me that he'll be an alternative to Gayle rather than playing alongside him. Hope I'm wrong though.
mickthemagpie
Playing with or without Gayle he gives us something different.
morla84
Might play them both at home, then start with Gayle away and bring on Mitro to protect a lead, etc...

Hope I'm wrong though. Suggests that he will give something different to the starting 11 for me. Why persist with a bottler like Perez when it would be so natural to just slip Gayle behind Mitro. Bimpy474
Might play them both at home, then start with Gayle away and bring on Mitro to protect a lead, etc... Fuck that, play both away and smash teams. None of this looking not to lose first bollocks. Lets attack teams from the off and show we're better than them, not letting them get some steam up by sitting back.

Ryan
“I know what to do so I’ll try to be like Ronaldo or Messi and score 50 or 60 goals. “If I have to I will die on the pitch for Newcastle.” Mad buggar.

I wish players wouldn't say things like that tbh. 99.99% of them never live up to it. One instance of him not tracking back or pressing his man, and we'll be all over him for not trying.
