Think his initial challenge was definitely a case of adrenalin/generally being a mental cunt. He was left far too isolated once we conceded which stopped him from being able to attack Southampton.

I'd definitely start him next week.

Obviously not basing it on that initial performance, but Cisse wasn't anything special and the circumstances Mitro came into weren't ideal in the slightest - Cisse wouldn't have performed better. He needs to adapt to the league and get as many minutes as possible. Use Cisse as the impact sub (where he excelled last season) and let Mitro rough the defenders up from the off I say.

I do agree it won't happen, but I'd like to see it.

All I can say he's built like a tank, and if he plays against our defenders in training he's going to be scoring for fun.

His presence in training should be a huge help to our defenders tbh.  He'll be a huge asset eventually, at both ends of the pitch.

Won't help Colo at all. Will just weaken him further. Might toughen up Lascelles though.

It's going to be a good contest because I thought there were a number of improvements to cisse's game, notably he was knicking the ball from people's feet and feeding it out to Wijnaldum and Sissoko, allowing us to attack quite high up the pitch.

We can do better than Cisse. He has a dodgy first touch and that leads to him missing good scoring opportunities, which for a specialist finisher is a bit of a problem.

I also suspect he's not the most popular figure in the dressing room.

It's difficult with Cisse. On one hand he contributes to us being ineffective going forward by not being able to hold it up and link with others to create momentum. But on the other hand he can score from scraps.

The team would look better with more of a team player up top. But would we score enough goals?
