Lascelles is as good a 4th choice as you can get at PL level. Plus his mentality is great for the group, he deserves to be part of a winning group. They're just taking it very easy with Fede, he last played in December in the 1-0 win over Burnley. He's only been back in full training for a few weeks. TheBrownBottle Posted September 1, 2022 Share Posted September 1, 2022 I'll echo everyone else - he's never a 1st choice centre half for where we're aiming to be, but as long as he's understanding of his place as a squad CB (4th choice at that), I'd be more than happy for him to be here for a couple of more years at least. I like him as a bloke and a professional - I also think he's a decent lower-echelons of PL class defender. He'd be a starter at most PL bottom six clubs. He really has been working with the ball too because he looks infinitely more comfortable with it and is passing it so much better. Have to say I am glad nothing came of the chance where he fell on his arse as that would have gone viral for some time I imagine! But we are really stacked at CB now and it’s great to have the 4 we do. Burn/Lascelles is good enough to start against a lot of teams if needed.
