Jordan
Great touch from Tripps and Bruno to ensure he had a hand on trophy first.
Newcastle Fan
Absolute class that they gave him credit, he was there when we were in the championship and he was there when we were in the champions league, and now he's seen us lift a trophy.
Pilko
There's a bunch of pre-takeover lads who really deserve the trophy win for their contributions both before and after Eddie came in but he's probably right at the top of the list. He was the young lad who tried to take it by the scruff of the neck when nobody else would, captained us back into the Premier League, helped us consolidate and get the new era underway, with a colossal game against PSG at home for good measure. Inevitably he'll move on in the summer but I really hope he gets at least a cameo at SJP before he goes on his way, he deserves the appreciation of the crowd one more time. He'll not be remembered amongst our best ever players in years to come but for sure will go down as a very important figure in the recent era. So glad he got to lift that trophy. Sibierski
Anyone know when he's due back? Because he may be needed more than just a cameo in this final run. Can still have a big part to play in securing UCL again.
AyeDubbleYoo
Always say he's a better CB than people sometimes give him credit for. And a leader. Great to see him involved in the presentation.
The College Dropout
Love that Bruno called him over and loved that Lascelles got to lift the trophy as well. His arch is complete. Thanks for everything Jamaal.

Superior Acuña
It was great that a Pardew-era signing got to lift the cup. Felt like the king himself was there with us. Edited March 18 by Superior Acuña

Some of this all harkens back to Lascelles and Rafa - the shift in attitude towards the club - the notion that Newcastle was not simply a stepping stone. Newcastle United should demand respect and hold itself in higher regard than it perhaps was. I do wonder what involvement Rafa had with Staveley. I once had a meeting with him (Rafa) and he was an absolute legend like, he was giving his views on the protests and stuff and asking us to maybe do one or two things slightly differently. Which made me think he knew all along what was brewing behind the scenes. Back to Lascelles though, he called out all this shit in the changing room at Southampton one half time if I remember correctly then was quickly made captain shortly after (I think). Maybe not from a footballing perspective but from a professional one, he has earned the right to a winners medal and the privilege of being one of the first to lift a cup. The College Dropout
Lascelles was captain and immediately dropped from the side. It says a lot about him as a professional that he kept his professionalism at the top level and made sure he was ready when his opportunity came. At times last season he was even zinging balls through the lines and out wide. I’ve got so much love for him, Krafth and the like. I never want a squad of over pampered primadonnas. If he wants a job in the backroom where he’s allowed to beat up lazy premierleague footballers let’s give it to him.

He either stays for his last year and leaves with as much goodwill as he'll ever have next summer or he gets sold this summer and enjoys actually playing football again for another club. ponsaelius
I actually foresaw a situation where he was released but hung around to continue his recuperation and potentially signed a short term deal, so this isn't all that different if we've triggered a 1 year extension on the sly. Not sure about it really - but wouldn't question the logic if Howe thinks it's worthwhile. Can kind of see it if we end up in the Europa or Conference. CB is such a critical position for us in terms of squad building. We desperately need a new RCB in this summer - but will be in a position where Burn and Schar could also need replacing entirely by next summer when they are 33 and 34. Throw in Botman's injury situation and it's definitely a position we need to start being proactive for long term and prevent needing an overhaul. The links to the likes of Jumah Bah (who City ended up signing) shoes we're obviously looking at addressing it beyond an immediate first team signing
