Ikon
He has been good overall, was bad against Wolves. Another player got his chance (Clark) and deserves to keep his place. That said Mbemba will get his chance again and could very well stay in the team after that if in form. Competition is good and we won't play the same CB all season. In preseason Mbemba has looked everything but unsettled.
Newcastle Fan
He's still learning and still improving but his attitude is great and he can become a top player.
Willow
I'm just chuffed we've got a good amount of competition in this position finally, it's about damn time
Benwell Lad
I'm just chuffed we've got a good amount of competition in this position finally, it's about damn time Yep. Four decent central defenders and others who could fill in is pretty good for this division.
HawK
Michael Keane: England call up Burnley defender following Glen Johnson injury http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37549507 Lascelles can't be too far behind then?
Tiotes Witch Doctor
Kind of dont want him called up, don't want premier league twats looking at him, think he will develop into a top player.
Incognito
I used to work with this lad's uncle. He's a good mate and his Dad is a good bloke too. All of his father's side are from Coventry and all decent basketballers except his uncle Robin who used to be a professional dancer

toptoon
Lascelles bar one costly mistake V Fulham first game he has been very very good ! Mbember has been poor at times and was atrocious V Wolves (not just the own o.g.) and rightly lost his place. Clark - Wow !! Really surprised how good he has been so far. Rightly kept his place. Hanley - Has been ok the little i have seen him. Feel sorry for him as hasn't really been given a run in the team as yet.

Guest
Thought he was shaky v Huddersfield too which was why he was brought out for a game.
Leazes_End_Mag
I've been far more convinced by Clark's performances this season rather than Lascelles'.

The College Dropout
Both goals came after hitting him on the thigh. While unlucky he needs to be quicker on his feet or his adjust body shape

joeyt
I think Clark is carrying him at times now. He's not as good as Clark but there's absolutely no way I'd agree with that
Hanshithispantz
He's been fine and was in no way at fault for either of those goals
MSC26
Really surprised by Clark - I think he's superb at this level and can only get better under Rafa. He is really good on the ball and I like when he drives forward. Lascelles though...touch of Bramble about him. Physically all there, but not sure he has the mentality. Concentration lapses, general positioning at times lacking. Only young though and Rafa can teach him alot.
Interpolic
I think Clark is carrying him at times now. He's not as good as Clark but there's absolutely no way I'd agree with that Absolutely every area of the team is subject to intense neesy scrutiny atm. Just because we've lost a few games doesn't mean anyone is carrying anyone at the back, the central defensive partnership is fine and we'll be back to winning ways and looking solid soon.
