Guest chopey
The mirror have gave us a terrible write up this morning basically saying arsenal are a wonderful team full of silky midfielders that need more protection and we are just a bunch of cloggers that should just lie down and let the big teams win
ExiledGeordie
Robbie Savage is unbearable to listen to
themanupstairs
I cannot believe I've just seen an ex-pro actively encouraging players to surround referees and ask for cards to be given. Astonishing. Why not, they say to hit the deck if even looked at in the box ? It's a horrible, horrible game at this level, only my partisanship keeps me involved. geordiesteve710
Marriner was more than happy to get his cards out. bit shy when it came to arsenal though !?!? Lovely red-shirted, champions league team, even the odd England international, always backed to the hilt in the national media innit. What's not to like/be biased towards from a ref's point of view??? Also, anyone know how long Coquelin's gonna be out for and what hospital he's staying in? We should probably send him a get well soon card or summat... Actually forget it, he'd only feign a paper cut and we'd all get in trouble.
Wallsendmag
The thing is, if an opposition player did the challenge mitrovic did today then this place would be up in arms baying for blood. It's a red card. Whether it would warrant it 10 years ago is irrelevant...today it is a red card, sadly. Is it/was it f***. Today's footballers like Coquelin are nowt but namby pamby shithouse c***s. Yellow card for Mitrovic was warranted, red card not. No intent whatsoever...Arsenal deserved their win but were assisted by a bent corrupt ref after he missed a blatant penalty and felt the need to rectify his amateurish mistake. Marriner should be demoted to non league football, the bent c***... Bit harsh on non league football tbh. The bloke is beyond incompetent, he's a downright cheat. I still remember when the same bloke refereed us down at Goodison (Ben Arfa 1-0) when he refused to give us the most blatant penalty you are ever likely to see when Nolan had his legs swiped from underneath him just as he was about to make it 2-0 and he unbelievably waved play on. The cameras showed he had a clear view of it and every single pundit, and an ex referee, were all in amazement that he didn't give it because it was so clear cut. Things like that go beyond incompetence. Since I packed my season ticket I've started watching Northern League and it's refreshing to see referees using common sense there. At that level Mitrovic challenge would have been a foul and possibly a booking, eye on the ball all the way and he stood on his foot. That's what it was, nothing more. The best refereeing performances are the ones where they don't get a mention. Today's newspapers will be all about Marriner. No doubt that's what he'll want but all it shows is how bad a game he had. Big Geordie
Worth bearing in mind that Waddle is a mackem and rarely has a good word to say about us (even if he was a great player) Wasn't be also banned from St James' for a bit?
merlin
This is the most infuriating commentary in a long time. Waddle was just as bad on our commentary in Oz....supported Marriner over almost every decision apart from his not awarding a pen for Thauvin's tackle..! Tbf to pelanty his initial reaction was that it wasn't a red, it was only after he realised he had better fall into line he changed his view. He also said that Colo's tackle wasn't a free kick. Not that I'm sticking up for him like, can't stand him. Whereabouts in oz are you? In WA. south of Perth...great place and weather AND we get almost all Newcastle PL games throughout the season. Because we are 2-3 hours behind the East depending on the time of year, the games are not on at stupid times either as we are only either 7 or 8 hours in front of the UK..! loki679
Worth bearing in mind that Waddle is a mackem and rarely has a good word to say about us (even if he was a great player) Wasn't be also banned from St James' for a bit? My dad used to play in the same side as him. Said even at 16, playing against 20-30 year old men he never looked like he was running but nobody could ever get close to him. triggs
Goals on Sunday said they thought it wasn't a red card. Even turbo cunt Poyet said it wasn't. Odd that all of BT agreed with the sending off while all of goals on Sunday disagreed. Didn't see match of the day but are pundits encouraged to agree with each other and not cause arguments I wonder

Guest palnese
Just watched the highlights. That Coquelin or whatever the cunt's name is. What a fucking fanny. Acts a fucking hard man, yet he goes to down quicker than an African hooker. Didn't they introduce a new rule where fannies like him could be punished for trying to get people sent off? The jump when Thauvin tackled him, man. Fucking hell. Hope he breaks his fucking legs, the bang average twat.

GeordieDazzler
Not one single iota of praise on Motd. Played 75 minutes against one of the best possession sides in the country and lost to a lucky deflection. Yes we were more physical than them but what the fuck did people expect us to do? I can see why the ref gave the red but if he'd given a yellow there wouldn't have been loads of people saying he'd missed a blatant red. Is there a record of ref stats somewhere, I'd be interested to see how Marriner compares card wise to the others.

He's not very good at telling non-white players apart when handing out red cards for sure.
Figures 1-0 Football
Aleksandar Mitrovic became the second United player to be shown a red card this season following Daryl Janmaat at Swansea City and the sixth in our last 13 Premier League games (following on from Fabricio Coloccini at Everton, Moussa Sissoko at Liverpool, Mike Williamson and Janmaat at Leicester City). Take from .com That is shocking really, even if it is spread across two seasons.
