SimplyAnth
Missed this for a game of golf, good fucking decision. What was Mitrovic's goal like?
Ketsbaia
Take away those freakish 20 minutes, we were alright today. Every year we get humped here, whether we're doing well, are mid-table or fighting relegation. At least this time we scored and had a spell of domination. If it wasn't Man City and Aguero, maybe it'd be a concern but I don't think today changes anything. Our fixtures are good going forward, let's use these two weeks to prepare for the real start to our season.

They scored the fastest 5 goals in premier league history as we waved the white flag and folded like a pack of cards. Stop trying to polish a turd man you're only kidding yourself. Parsley
Missed this for a game of golf, good f***ing decision. What was Mitrovic's goal like? Good move. Mbabu steamed past Zabaleta on the left. Ball found its way to Wijnaldum in the channel, cracking little cross with the outside of the boot, diving header from Mitrovic into the corner. ponsaelius
To be honest, we were set up well and playing excellently in the first half. SMC had it spot on. We could have and probably should have been 2-0 up, maybe even 3-0 before they scored. Second half we endured a terrible half, but not helped by the fact that Aguero was absolutely unplayable. They were due a turn around like this and they had the quality to do it. Sadly, we collapsed like a pack of cards and were an absolute shambles. In no way can SMC be blamed for that IMO, he was let down by his players. Although, he needs to ensure that this does not happen again - it happened frequently last season under Carver and happened a lot under Pardew. Had this had happened against the likes of Norwich or Leicester, I'd be a lot more worried. We were outclassed in the second half by a far superior team. The first half/Chelsea game gives me confidence going into our next run of games, all easily winnable in the next 10 or so. The new formation looks good, the way the front players linked looks good - we should comfortably improve from here. The main issue with the players is confidence, the second we concede we look vulnerable, this needs improving. Gouffran was absolutely gash though, with Tiote coming back thankfully we probably won't see him again, just a shame Tiote was not fit enough to start. We lost 6-1 for cunts sake
Dave
Eh, why was that Mitrovic goal given offside? And he should have had a hat-trick. Not good enough against opposition like this.
Wullie
A "far superior team" that have 3 points more than Palace and Leicester. Aye they're decent but the longer Newcastle fans turn up against these teams fully accepting of getting massacred, the more that's what we'll get. West Ham and Spurs both turned this lot over ffs. Dave
Looks like after their third our players just gave up. Tends to happen when it's drilled into them for years that they cannot possibly compete.

Parsley
De Bruyne looks f***ing awesome like. So clever. He's a machine. Not as elegant as a Hazard or a Silva but makes exactly the right pass or takes the shot at the right moment almost all the time. Ridiculously efficient. Guest firetotheworks
Fair assessment on MOTD and Shearer absolutely right about the entire club having a losing mentality.
relámpago blanco
This match was probably one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. We were quality most of the first half and the better side but I suppose they have one of the most potent attacking units in world football. In my opinion they probably have the 3rd best attacking force in world football which doesn't excuse our performance in the second half but these players are so low on confidence when that 2nd goal went in that was it, head's dropped. It's not excusable but this is what teams that are rock bottom on confidence do. We can take some positives from this in terms of our first half play and also Mitrovic. We'll never be great under Mclaren but I think we have a reasonable game plan but it only works with Mitrovic in the side and we'll never see the potential of the side until we win a couple. It's worrying though at the moment, 8 games in and 5 points a drift of safety.
Ketsbaia
Best we've played there in years, yet we still lost 6-
Beren
Fair assessment on MOTD and Shearer absolutely right about the entire club having a losing mentality. Not sure how much he deliberated on what he wanted to say, but it struck me that he said 'club' not 'team'. Maybe I'm hearing what I want to hear though. Interpolic
That's comfortably the worst offside call I've ever seen like. I don't even understand how it could have been called offside. The sort of decision that comes across as completely bent. Would never have occurred the other way around.

TO be fair it is the team and its 4-5 years of losing 10 games in a row then winning a game through random luck and going on to win the next 6 games or whatever as we did under Pards. The sort of decision that comes across as completely bent. Would never have occurred the other way around. It very clearly is a bent decision like. There is literally no other conceivable reason it was chalked off. Not even incompetence on a grand scale. But we're little old newcastle, so naturally no one questions it or gives a shit. Deuce
Just got back in. At least Mitro got on the board, I guess?
samag
With Anita and Gouffran in the centre of midfield, we were always going to be in trouble . Need to find a commanding centre midfielder who can protect the back four better than these two.
