Newcastle United 6-2 Norwich City - 18/10/15 post match reaction from page 44

Recommended Posts

There's no getting round the fact that Alan Pardew was the first Newcastle United manager to lose 6 consecutive Premier League games.

There's no getting round the fact that before Alan Pardew arrived, since 1993, Newcastle United had lost 35 Premier League games by 3 goals or more. Alan Pardew had lost by 3 goals or more 22 times on his own since December 2010 (until 07/09/2014). More than any other Premier League club in the same period.

There's no getting round the fact that Alan Pardew’s Newcastle United conceded 3 goals or more 11 times in 2012/2013.

There's no getting round the fact the 0-6 home loss to Liverpool was the biggest home defeat since 9th Sep 1925 (vs Blackburn).

Pardew's amazing plan saw us conceding record breaking ammounts of goals. Our defence is total garbage, sitting back is suicidal and it's been our unwillingness to get men forwards that had us at the bottom of the league.

There's no getting round the fact that results have plummeted since Pardew left.

3/10 must try harder.

I asked it earlier in the thread, and apologies if someone answered without me seeing, but it appears that the last time we scored two goals timed as two minutes apart was in the Championship. We never managed it once under Pardew.

The second of the two was the Gini hat-trick goal where we had three players waiting to get on the cross. Keep doing that and you'll keep scoring.

Pretty special to respond to the six we conceded against City, with a 6 of our own. Players must be on cloud nine. Good for them. Fantastic stuff. Lets push on now please. Humping fat Sam would be glorious. Just perfect!

Now theres a phrase you don't see everyday...and an image I never want to see again!  :kasper:

Argh, that's horrific! Shocking choice of words really. Hope we destroy them though, and we also peak just in time for Palace. How far away is that game now?

Oh the joy if we murder both those teams man.

Don't think a scenario like this is possible for Newcastle fans, not in the universe we live in.

Pardew's league record last season - W7, D5, L7

League results since he left - W4, D7, L17

Yeah, seriously.

We actually had players making runs into the box. I think I counted 5 players wearing black & white in or around Norwich's box for one of our goals. Haven't seen that from a Newcastle side in about a decade or so.

Yeah, seriously.

What was his record in his first 9 games last season, versus McClaren's this season (with much harder fixtures).

Cheers.

It was a strange game where I thought we were all over the place, but our better players clicked going forward and did the business. I thought every time Norwich attacked they caused problems and looked capable of scoring and the same could be said of us. We badly need a commanding CB and CM. Offensively we have good players, but the balance of the side is all wrong. Colback in there is akin to playing with 10 men and Colo although capable on his day, is too slow and too fragile physically to be deployed regularly and we are suffering as a result. We need to invest 20m at least on a CB and CM of quality with key skill sets.

If you're going to pick out a single chunk of games, you could equally go for the five we won on the trot.

It seems to me that his record over the time that he was in charge last season, with its ups and downs, is as fair as you can get.

You just don't want to admit that you under-rated Pardew, and under-rated the problems he had.

I'll help you out, we were just 4 points better off despite Pardew having far, far, far kinder fixtures last year:

So what's your point then, that John Carver was fucking shit?  If so then we know that, so can you shut the fuck up now please?

Why would you go for 5 games Pardew won in a row?  That makes no sense whatsoever

Your "argument" was our results had nosedived since Pardew left, conveniently ignoring that Carver was in charge for much of that and won about 3 games.

How about pick the entirety of his results then, or if you have to, break it down season by season...and club by club. You can't get around the bleak picture it paints of Pardew's track record. You are the only one who consistently has to pick a small cross-section of matches, and just flat out ignore the much larger, and thus more reflective, cross-section before his little win streak. Even Donald Trump would stop short of such a remarkably stupid argument.
