AyeDubbleYoo
Fair enough, I just think player fees are a valid topic of debate, I don't expect anyone to be gutted we spent a few million too much
The College Dropout
Happy with this tbh, he's always looked decent in games I've watched him, kind of player you worry about when he's playing against you. same, he can strike from distance as well from midfield, cant remember the last one of them we had. Cabaye? I think of Cabaye often.

Klaus
12 million is pretty standard for a young English centre mid Iyam. 12 months ago when he was in form we would have had no complaints.

AY
soo.. Mitro Perez Gini Sissoko Saivet Shelvey ? Something like that?
themanupstairs
Saivet is good defensively according to the stats 13/64 for relevance
GavMcEl
Tbh 12 million is the standard rate now in fairness... It would be the equivalent of around 7 million in around 2009.... Average price for an average player.... Saying that hope we get this one over the line

Cabaye for whatever Palace paid is a better deal in terms of performance than £12m for Shelvey though. Such an intelligent player. BTW -no way is LB more of a priority than ST or CB. Absolutely no way. Strikers can't score, defenders can't head, Dummett can do the main job of defending and stop crosses. I'd even buy a proper LM before replacing Dummett. Ash
If we're spending £12m on a CM I'd rather it not be on Shelvey. Could have got Fernando from Sampdoria for around that and he's miles better.
The College Dropout
Saivet is good defensively according to the stats 13/64 for relevance Someone mentioned the midfield would have no cover. that's not the case.
Nobody
If we're spending £12m on a CM I'd rather it not be on Shelvey. Could have got Fernando from Sampdoria for around that and he's miles better. We're desperate for someone who is used to playing in the PL though, so happy to get a slightly inferior player that won't need six to twelve months to adapt. Terrymac1966
Delighted with a more mobile engine room ... got tired of seeing Colback and Anita swamped by fast counter attacks ... We need characters and these two have it in spades ... welcome to the club both players ... very very happy

Foluwashola
Fee does seem a bit steep but this is the going rate these days. Bring in a striker anarl and we'll probably stay up.
George Bailey
Decent bit of business imo. He's streets ahead of others we have, so an improvement. Price is about the going rate. Follow this up with a tried n tested striker and who knows maybe we are gonna give this nonsensical idea of staying up a go?
Yorkie
I wasn't complaining about the fee as such, I just can't get over the prices you see these days, even though there's a perfectly reasonable explanation. That being said, I don't understand why we've all-of-a-sudden decided to start paying the going rate for players that are barely going to improve us (but I'm talking more about Mitrovic/Thauvin in that case). Shelvey is a decent signing.

Dr Venkman
Positive move imo. Worth remembering he's still only 23 as well, we're getting the prime years of his career. If he wants to be a success here I think he can be.
Unbelievable
Cautiously optimistic about this one. Hope the sharp decline that Swansea fans have noted was more to do with him wanting out than anything more fundamental. As we all know, if one club can get the best out of players who have lost their way a bit it's us.
Flip
Happy enough. We need two CMs and we got it. Never seen Saivet but Shelvey if bothered is heck of an improvement on both Colback and Anita.
