Jonjo Shelvey (now playing for Çaykur Rizespor, on loan from Nottingham Forest)

Recommended Posts

Dragged down by this club like so many others. Looks completely lost. We desperately need some leadership on the pitch. We have none at this club. Shelvey is capable of being that imo but not in this situation and so many others already giving up. He looks down and he plays like he is down.

He had a shit attitude before he came here to be fair.

Feel sorry for this guy. One week he is alongside the raving lunatic that is Tiote. The next he is alongside the invisible coward Gini. The guy has no chance.

He's got Colback to look forward to next week

Them 2 will say the same thing about Shelvey.

Shelvey should just be moved forward and played behind the striker. At least he can shoot the ball, and can play a through pass. No one else there is doing a damned thing. This team is so shit man.

I think he's flat out our best footballer (on the ball) at this point in time. Which isn't saying much, but at least he controls the ball well and can pass it with a degree of talent and intelligence, something you can't really say for anyone else. He's going to be inconsistent or anonymous every other week because if he wasn't he'd be playing for a bigger/better team.

I hope he stays in the Championship so we can build a team around him. Get some pace up front and players who like getting in behind and he'll be ace. Realistically though he'll be off.

I just find it so laughable that we bought him and Townsend to add some British grit and determination, and both players lack of such qualities is what probably led to their clubs getting rid of them in the first place. Carr and McClaren played a blinder there.
