Guest firetotheworks
His attitude has changed so much. Tonight he was our best defensive and attacking midfielder, exactly what we've been crying out for him to be, as opposed to just an attacking one. KaKa
Regarding Shelvey and his fitness, back when he was with Swansea, he copped a lot of flak for putting up an ad for a cook for him and his family on tasty wages. The press reported it as another sign of footballers being hopeless and over-privileged, but as a fan, I think you'd want the players in your team eating properly. If they are prepared to use their own money to do it, well good on them. It's much better than them being on the lash or eating pizzas because they can't cook. Lots of people of higher class social backgrounds on less money than a professional footballer use cooks, cleaners, nannies, personal assistants etc. without anyone accusing them of being hopeless, so it was probably just barely veiled snobbery. Most of the top athletes in the USA have top chefs working for them that can make delicious super healthy meals. Would be the first thing I got if I was a top athlete, and I can even cook a little bit. Should be an absolute no brainer.

lovejoy
Superb tonight. Best player on the park by a distance.
afar
Superb tonight. Best player on the park by a distance. That's great to hear, we have to keep this guy fit, he's irreplaceable at the moment, although at some point Rafa will need to think about resting him. Stottie
Possibly Giggs, but I never realized he is 183 to 185cm. Must be the hunched shoulders.
Stal
Possibly Giggs, but I never realized he is 183 to 185cm. Must be the hunched shoulders. Me neither, but that's because us good hearted folk work in feet and inches
Guest Howaythetoon
He's playing really well, but then this is his level. He has shown in the PL he can't quite cut it to any degree of consistency with high end performances.
Yorkie
What does 'his level' even mean? Given that he's trampling all over every team we play against in this league, you would assume that he's probably going to be quite capable in the division above? Which he has proven to be, in spite of the fact he lost his way in the last couple of years.

Guest firetotheworks
Hmm, it seems more of an attitude problem at that level than anything. He's easily PL standard when he can be arsed, he showed that at Swansea before he stopped putting the effort in.
Ikon
Or maybe he's in a better shape in every possible way right now, and that there's a chance he can do it in the PL as well. Time will tell. Looks a totally different player right now. Lets not write him off, some people did it before this season as well.
Guest Howaythetoon
I'm just not convinced with his form at the moment. He's bossing games because he has the time and space to do so. And by level Yorkie, he is clearly a PL footballer, but he's not a very good one as he demonstrated for us and in the main for Swansea. He has ability though and if his attitude and fitness is right then he has a chance. Lets see!
joeyt
I disagree that he was 'not very good in the main for Swansea'. Yes he lost his place before he joined us but he played nearly every game for Swansea in their highest ever Premier League finish under Monk and also achieved most of his England caps when playing for Swansea. Guest firetotheworks
Shelvey was singled out last night and had no space a lot of the time. It made no difference, he did what he wanted.

Agreed, Swansea was where he earned his reputation before he stopped putting the effort in. How you could think he wasn't very good for them is beyond me. Hanshithispantz
This is his level Howay man, he might not go on to boss the Premiership but he's clearly a Premiership player and is only 24.
Guest Howaythetoon
Look I rated him when we signed him and still like some of what he has to offer, but for us he was really disappointing when he signed outside of the WH game and at the start of this season he was poor as well. I've also heard he isn't quite committed to his body shall we say off the pitch although it appears he has been upping his fitness of late. He has a lot still to prove basically, even if he has a stellar season in the Championship.
