shintonsghost
Tbh ive never come accross "free" tickets except works season tickets, who the hell gets ours? Im all for getting more young kids from underprivaleged families into our ground if theres spares, they are the future, and a body on a seat is better than being empty. I wish more clubs did this tbh.....handing out tickets to students is a waste by sunlun.
shintonsghost
Its the new university term, they will have given many thousands to new students. They have. Hopefully they all get to see another demoralising defeat but I've got an awful feeling they'll win tomorrow. I said that last week.if they dont win tomoz they really will be in shitsville already.big pressure on them MUST WIN FOR THEM......

I wish more clubs did this tbh.....handing out tickets to students is a waste by sunlun. We hand out around 200-300 free tickets per match to the NUFC foundation. It's a good cause and they even do it for sold out games such as Huddersfield and Wolves this season, so a lot of the time it's for seats that could have been sold. Sunderland hand out circa 10k free tickets to avoid their pink stadium looking deserted then they'll all patting each other on the back saying how great they are because their crowds are so good. Fact is any club could do what they do if they were desperate enough.
relámpago blanco
To be honest why wouldn't you give out free tickets if you cant fill the stadium as long and it doesn't effect sales.
Hanshithispantz
I think it's a good thing to do like, it's just pretty funny when they all pat themselves on the back about it, like they do with everything else. Whilst laughing at the fat smell mags for not hitting an impossible 55k every week because someone probably misspoke on the tele decades ago when talking about us, maybe. shintonsghost
Think they'll win tomorrow like, they're due a win. Must agree.they cant go on like this , all teams win a game and looking at their games coming up even a win will have them still struggling. Lose this and they start to look like they are cut adrift. Do they still just have 1 point ?
Tubestationatmidnight
1 point yeah. West Ham and Stoke away after tomorrow. They don't win tomorrow then it really will be looking a lot grimmer than it already does for them.
madras
Its the new university term, they will have given many thousands to new students. My nephew was at Sunderland Uni. He told me that there were piles of free tickets at the Uni for most home games and most of them were still there come kick off, they literally couldn't give them away. xLiaaamx
They'll factor in how many free tickets given away into official attendance, not how many actually turn up, I bet
Andy84
Still think they'll scrape survival, that could change after the next few games though. According to the Mackems at graft key players such as Kirchoff and Kone have lost form big time, plus other than Defoe they are bereft of quality at the top end of the pitch. Guest
Think they'll win tomorrow like, they're due a win. It's past August & September, this is the month it all comes together and they win a game or two.
Stifler
They always do hand them out for nothing, the same even happened to one of the derbies as few years ago. Loads of NUFC got tickets to it for free because they went to Sunderland uni. I've heard from people who go there that they are constantly getting emails from the student union for free tickets. Compare this to NUFC and Newcastle/Northumbria and there is a few, not a very big fee (£11 in midweek, £13 for Brentford). I get that clubs should be giving tickets out to good causes, but you have to do it in moderation. I think NUFC hand out free tickets to 2-3 schools a game. Ketsbaia
My first ever match was a free Sunderland one, 1997. School isn't even nearby because it's Chester-le-Street. First year of the new stadium too.
Marmoset
At a time where everyone complains about ticket prices, handing out free ones is obviously a good thing. Boasting about your attendance as a result of it is a bit odd though.
Ryan
Wouldn't be surprised if Moyes walked tomorrow if they get beat, he seems sick of being there already
Tiresias
Why would you pay for a ticket to see the mackems when they'll just give you one for free all the time?

Wallsendmag
Back to the Football and I reckon these are nailed on to win today. It's the first day of October, a time they always get their first win on the board and they are playing very poor opposition. Thanks to the 11,000 free tickets issued they'll have a big crowd urging them on. Expect them to win 2-0. I've even put them on my coupon.
xLiaaamx
That Rondon will be relishing playing that lump they bought from Chelsea.
TK-421
Is Defoe out? Last night on Total sport, loads of them were ringing in saying as desperate as it sounded, they hoped Anichebe would play, only for Gary Bennett to tell them all.... 'He's injured'. With that bombshell, they all resigned themselves to another loss

Scoot
Making up stories of how everyone hates us and every loves them. #football friends. Very insecure bunch aren't they? http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/newcastle-fans-are-attacking-norwich-buses.1280434/page-6#post-23965770 The Mags are a complete set of collosal fucking helmets. This is well known in football, just follow England abroad and all the lads you meet will confirm what we already know. and In our group chat I'm in I've known some of the lads for about a year. There's a Utd fan, wolves fan and Brighton fans in there for example. They can't stand Newcastle and I warned them they'd be like this down in the championship acting like they're doing the teams below a favour Both derbies we were all Sunderland (except the one mag in the chat)
