Would be surprised if there was only 2,400 there last night. Streams of people paying on the turnstile and looked closer to 4000. Not sure how many the stand holds?

[edit: Midland Road stand holds 8000, didn't look less than half full, though didn't see from other side of pitch]

Interesting choice of managers from the relegated clubs. Boro get someone who did ok in the Premier League & Championship, Hull have taken a punt on a manager who won multiple titles going toe-to-toe with Zenit's millions, Sunderland opted for someone who's never been better than a mid-table Championship manager. Honestly think McInnes would have been better. He's at the very least comfortably been second best in Scotland for a few years which is a fair achievement regardless of the standard of football up there.

Think Steele is a decent signing for them. McCormack would be a good signing if he's motivated, his head drops very easily though.

Got a friend who's a Blackburn fan and he says Steele is fucking atrocious the worst keeper he's seen in over 30 years at ewood. Said he's absolutely robbing a living.

He played for them 7 years ago

Now that's progress!

'Newcastle are signing our old RB's that we had on loan and they are turning out to be decent signings for them, we need to buy them ourselves. Who do we go for who we can get, hmmmmmmm................ Alan Hutton is available'.

Right now, I think it is about them getting bodies in more than anything else. The problem is though that their base squad is dubious in quality to say the least. FFS they were easily the worst team in the PL last season, if you look at the previous season as a guideline for what they need and should expect: Aston Villa were easily the worst team that year, they spent a bunch of money, hired a manager who had won the champions league and had had previous promotion to the PL on his CV. And that only got them mid table despite changing that manager halfway through the season with one that has almost unparalleled track record in getting teams into the PL. If we use that as a comparison (and you probably can't to be honest, but it's fun to think of it) they are really going to struggle.
