cp40
The dead The North Sea Factory fortnight Owt else. 1992ers 1992 was when all the fans in areas between Sunderland and Newcastle jumped on the keegan bandwagon
geordiedean
Factory Fortnight has to be a piss take surely?? Surely someone isn't that backward or living 50 years in the past to think factory fortnight is either still a thing or an excuse why nearly 20 thousand people didn't go to the match
Paully
They really are a bunch of f***ing fucktards like. It's actually quite funny. Exactly! 13 pages on that Rafa thread with the usual bitter bollocks being spouted! Dangerclown seems back to his bitterest best!
summerof69
"Reckon any club who'd have been as s*** as us over the last year would have lost much much more than we have, the great toon nation like to wax lyrical about there support in the championship but forget they had less than 40k for some premier league games when McLaren was in charge" Did we? Never went under 47,000 under McClaren. Much to our detriment, though. Even with a boycott, I don't think it's gone below 40,000 ?

Surely someone isn't that backward or living 50 years in the past to think factory fortnight is either still a thing or an excuse why nearly 20 thousand people didn't go to the match Course it's still a thing. Nissan has been closed for the last 2 weeks and up to 30,000 indirect staff are stood down at the time. Not saying it has any impact on football attendances but for example it's been taking me 20 mins to get home rather than the near 40 due to the A19 being so quiet. Back to normal today though. Don't think so and I agree, the statement an empty St James Park would make against Ashley would be striking. Leaving early from games is also a shockingly poor idea imo, don't give them the ticket sales. I was hoping last effort worked out but sadly it came to f*** all. If we lose Rafa I hope there will be some serious unrest, but somehow I think there are too many fans who don't really give much of a s*** about whose making all the bad calls let alone dragging our club through the s*** year on year. The attendance they issued was based on tickets sales, including STs who didn't turn up. Anyway, I hope those days of unrest are gone.

TBG
They are cringeworthy as fuck the Mags like. 'Rafa' this and 'Rafa' that. Imagine thinking your big time enough to call your manager by his first name. Cant wait til he fucks off so they can get Steve or Kevin back in again. Must've hated it when they had Big Sam in. Weird how they keep calling him 'overweight' and 'obese' I love it when they all call us fat and obese when it's been proven Sunderland is the most obese and unhealthy place in the UK These fucktards still live in the 1970s I genuinely think that place also has to have the most bigoted and racist/homophobic population as well as the least IQ per head. There's a lad I used to work with from Sunderland who keeps posting pics of his kid on FB. Fuck me this kid looks like something from the goonies, eyes miles apart and a nose and mouth that looks like it's been walloped with a frying pan. A genuinely fugly as fuck kid man. Figures 1-0 Football
Where does the "Lads" thing come from? Didn't realise the club actually used it too As it happened: Celtic defeat Lads to win Dafabet Cup

bigfella
Where does the "Lads" thing come from? Didn't realise the club actually used it too As it happened: Celtic defeat Lads to win Dafabet Cup They've always done this. On the back page of their programmes in the 70s, they'd have the team line ups with "The Lads " instead of Sunderland above their list of players. I thought it cringeworthy even then. Altamullan
The Lads was as much associated with us as with them. Recall a whole Haway vs Howay debate (way back) too.
BlueStar
On RTG it's mostly a meme from when someone described their mate (who they wanted people to sponsor or something) as a "massive lads fan", which made him sound like some crazed pederast. Without some of our fans winding them up would probs only be about 5 pages. Half of the posts are "why don't you fcuk off" etc and petty squabbling between rival supporters. Neither party fares particularly well....
