Guest chopey
It says £30 million deal that includes add ons I bet a hell of a lot of the fee wont be paid up front, so I can't see how it will get them out of their financial hole.

Figures 1-0 Football
Ah the good old English supplement. Think of a reasonable fee... Double it... Add £2m = you have the fee for an English player. He really isn't that great like

shintonsghost
They can wank over the deal as much as they want, bottom line is they are skint and are selling off the only hopes they have of survival. Make no mistake they are going to be fucked for years unless they fluke a good season. Great news as it wont be reinvested and a good talent has left them. Fucking idiots man
Figures 1-0 Football
The £30m will be a drop in the ocean compared to the drop in TV money, PL prize money, matchday income. They've now lost two of their star players, still have absolutely no way of replacing them, have no manager and have the prospect of losing more players. They of course can gamble (as Villa did) and spend loads hoping to come straight back up, but if they don't, they are in deep deep shit.
Dokko
It's £18 million upfront and £12 million with add ins depending on appearances etc. Sounds about right.

Sky say £25m with £5m in add ons fwiw. Doesn't say how the £25m is structured though, so it could be £15m upfront and then £5m each season. Unless Everton sell him in January, then they get him for free.

Teasy
Potentially Everton #1 for the next 10+ years, and maybe England #1 for a good chunk of that if he fulfills the potential in the next couple of seasons £30m for him is a good investment, man He either gets even better and an even bigger club goes for him with even more money, or he stays at Everton as a solid Prem GK for many years But it is only potential tested over a short period of time. He could just as easily end up a average Premier League keeper for Everton. £30m is too much when you consider what other keepers usually go for. Unless its something like £20m fee and £10m on appearances/success, then its not such a terrible deal.

mrmojorisin75
tbf as a a club needing to sell a player these days you'd be fucking praying everton are the ones ringing up like, seem to have plenty of cash to spend but no idea how to spend it
Stal
Didn't Everton offer something like £8 million at first? They really don't understand the art of haggling.
Kimbo
I can't handle the money in the game these days. Clubs seems so susceptible to hype, spend a season saying a player is amazing and worth £30m and someone will come along and pay it. We should try it with Colback as an experiment, bring back the ginger Pirlo hype.
Figures 1-0 Football
Because he's a massive lads fan, I cant help but want his career to crash and burn. How much does all of this mean Woodman is worth after winning the World Cup? £100m?

Guest
Just a total nothing appointment really This is where Sunderland are now. Neilson from Hearts to MK Dons, Clark from Killie to Bury, Stubbs from Hibs to Rotherham before being sacked...the route from fairly big Scottish clubs to Football League nobodies continues.
