nufcjb
I bet there will be a splatter of home fans who'll applaud and welcome Pardew back at SJP as manager. Just sickening.
AyeDubbleYoo
What Ashley said about Pardew in that interview means absolutely nothing TBH. The whole thing was fiction... he said he was sorry about Keegan and Shearer FFS.

TRon
What Ashley said about Pardew in that interview means absolutely nothing TBH. The whole thing was fiction... he said he was sorry about Keegan and Shearer FFS. The regret over Keegan, Hughton and Shearer were weasel words aimed at the fans to get them onside. The Pardew appreciation was genuine IMO, the most loyal and unquestioning lackey he ever had.

Mole_Toonfan
Strange that City would be against it considering Guardiola complained about the window going into the season, no idea why he would complain about it when the ownership wants it kept as is. Bimpy474
Not sure if it's the window closing early that's the problem. It's the fact teams from other countries can still buy our players until their window shuts.
cp40
if the window had shut before the spurs game- we would be fucked like edit- cue- but they would have known etc .
AyeDubbleYoo
if the window had shut before the spurs game- we would be fucked like edit- cue- but they would have known etc . I think the assumption is you buy players earlier
Mole_Toonfan
Obviously that's the reason they are doing that next summer and not this, loads of teams would be fucked if they did it in the middle of this window.

hoppaz
Rafa wants the window to close before the first game, Newcastle board 'nahhh' Rafa is in charge. Why have a limited wage structure in place only to find players leaving after you can replace them? That is where we are and the rich clubs obviously pick up big fees for players once clubs become desperate hence why they are there. The two extremes of the league right there tbh. timeEd32
Strange that City would be against it considering Guardiola complained about the window going into the season, no idea why he would complain about it when the ownership wants it kept as is. Likely has more to do with this impacting their ability to buy and shuttle players between the clubs they own.
AyeDubbleYoo
I don't really see how it affects clubs much, just start sending emails a couple of weeks earlier FFS.

Cookie1892
Rafa wants the window to close before the first game, Newcastle board 'nahhh' Finally competing with Chelsea and city. is this an actual thing or is it something Richard Keys and Andy Gray have made up for BEIN Sports? Guest chopey
Are they saying its un-fair because other European teams could do deals with each other after our window has closed ?
Guest
That's why end of August is perfect. It's before the European competitions start, most of the leagues are only 1-3 weeks in, just leave it be.
AyeDubbleYoo
Ideally it would close before you need to decide whether to buy a season ticket.
