brummie
According to the BBC we've spent 59m and you've spent 57m this window. Next down the list is Norwich with 11 or so. What I don't get is the sort of sniffy reaction this spending has got. Are we supposed to just accept our new status and stay where we are, or aren't we allowed to do whatever it takes to get back? I'm not sure about you but we've sold/released so many players starting from the end of last year that we had to build a whole new squad. There was no choice. We haven't just spunked 50million on three players or whatever.
Tisd09
Villa and Newcastle were always going to be targets no matter what we did. If Burton Albion spent a shit load of money like that I'm sure people would be harping on about "dat ambition and desire to get in the Premier League"

Figures 1-0 Football
I presumed the Atsu deal was not being confirmed because they had another secret one lined up and were going to do them in a double confirmation at the end of the window. Shame. But we're still more than good enough as we are.
Teasy
If only making a profit was what it was all about. To me it's not. Its been all about giving us a squad capable of winning this league, and IMO we've done that. If we can do that and make profit then all the better. Dave
The Atsu announcement is being held for after we sell Sissoko. Despite many fans being fucked off by his attitude, he's quite clearly one of our best players remaining after relegation so they want to appear that we're not just a selling club. Figures 1-0 Football
Lets not regret we have Rafa now, the days of hoarding profit is long gone. All of this profit can be reinvested next summer along with the extra TV money - we could be a real force if we go up.

Despite many fans being f***ed off by his attitude, he's quite clearly one of our best players remaining after relegation so they want to appear that we're not just a selling club. Apparently the club held off confirming the deal till Atsu changed his trousers, it's a stand off as we speak.

I hope we can keep Ritchie fit I think he will have to bear quite the burden when it comes to creating chances this season.
TRon
Bit of a gormless comment for a professional sports writer. The 12 signings have been brought in to do a specific job, but we'll have to start again if we get promoted, so it's hardly great business to be making profit by selling premier league assets.
