Euro 2016 trouble - Russia handed suspended disqualification by UEFA

Interesting angle on some of the trouble.

That's it though, they've kicked off a chain reaction.  If it was local to me, and I was 10-15 years younger, I'd be well up for getting pissed and bottling some daft foreign cunt causing shite on my streets.  I'm sure from now on a lot of it will be England fans getting provoked, as the story has gone since 1998. :undecided:

honestly thought this kind of thing was done with since its been so long since the half wits were allowed out of england for games, I'll never comprehend what makes it seem like a good idea to completely disgrace yourself and tarnish the reputation of the 99.9% of people just looking to enjoy the tournament and france in peace

I'm still one step behind that and can't comprehend just.. why? Like, what's the point

Need to just deport them all, fuck it. If they can't stay out of trouble then they've no business being there.

That's right it's the England fans watching in the pub that gets attacked fault.  Fuck off man, too fucking easy to judge.

The utter contrast in this video.

https://www.facebook.com/SPORTbible/videos/1980716888740500/

Bunch of wannabe hooligans - who seem to have an average age of 20 - at the start clearly trying to provoke anyone that'll give them the time of day inevitably getting charged by the police.

Much more mild-mannered bunch at the end having a laugh with local street dancers.

I too have been guilty to shame these England fans. However, I think this is the widely accepted stereotype that we both live up to and are simultaneously tarnished with.

The minority will be causing issues, ex-hooligans of big clubs who now follow the local shite side to fill their "buzz gap" and pissed up kids who've watched too much Green Street. I suspect though, as we've all seen these scenes before, and seen the news reports the assumption will be made by all (myself included) that it was simply the fault of the Torquay Naughty Over Fourties...when I bet it isn't.

How many times have we gone away as Toon fans and seen ill-treatment of our fanbase due to the fact we're English - plenty. When in reality the very vast majority are there for a laugh, a drink and a party. I've seen ill-treatment of our fans in Marseille, Bruges and Benfica, and none of which seemed provoked (maybe being biased?). I think in general the policing abroad is intended to be more militant and intimidating and for some strange reason we don't take kindly to that. What happens when you back a dog into the corner I guess. Cannot blame people for that.

I'm with all of you on this to a degree, but no-one knows the real story apart from the people there...

I can't speak for NUFC away days in Europe, I'm sure there's been times it has been harsh, but it'll have been based on shit like this going back to the 90s.  That's willfully forgetting the glorious days of the 80s.

Obviously there are many there that are just there "for a laugh, a drink, a party", in their own eyes, feeling they're doing nothing wrong but it's the manner it's conducted in.  The same sort of shit we see in town centres up and down the country, that UK police certainly don't put up with for the most part but on a much larger, uncontrolled scale.  There's no inclusivity to it, there's no respect for surroundings, for locals, for the culture they are in.  They don't mingle, they don't want to be part of a greater, wider group of human beings.  They want to fuck everyone off, be the "English", they want to get blootered to the point of incoherency and pass it off has "having a laugh", "doing no harm" bullshit.

It's the same pathetic shit you used to see on programmes about Brits abroad.  I get it.  I've done it to some degree, but when you're travelling as part of a much wider group, essentially representing your nation and making or breaking that nation's reputation (constantly breaking seems to be our trend), there comes a point when you need to show a little fucking decency.  Go, have a drink, but be a decent person, have a laugh with the locals, speak to someone that isn't another obnoxious English cunt, spreading his arms out, looking for a ruck with someone, anyone.  Fucking pathetic cunts.  I dread the England/Scotland games next year. :anguish:

 don't get me wrong, I don't think the police would have handled this well in any way, I'd be amazed if they did, but you're bang on. I've been in this situation before, and I know what it's like when you've had a few, but there's no excuse for throwing digs at people and hoying fucking chairs at the police.

If I were English I'd be a lot more concerned over the videos of Muslims currently trying to set up Sharia Law areas in London as we speak than a bunch of pissed up chair throwers getting ambushed by a load of French and Russian ultras..but hey ho, that's the left side for you.

It's just a shame you don't have the bollocks to take control of your own country but give it the big un tourny after tourny.

Anyhooooooo, not a jot of bother in Bordeaux with the Welshies. Been having a fair bit of craic on even though we're evidently English. It'll absolutely hit the fan next match though. Too many people for it not too.

I hate our culture. :anguish:

Same. I wouldn't exactly call this behaviour hoolaganism or anything to that effect, but do you see any other nations using this as an excuse to get absolutely shitfaced and just be embarrassing en masse? It's just depressing. And as far as depressing goes, the facebook comments on that video above are just the worst. An array of spelling errors and opinion errors that make me want to stab.
