I think keeping Gayle as an option from the bench and trying to spend some of the pennies we have on trying to get an attacking midfielder that isn't hopeless, would be a better option. Despite Ashley's nefarious ways, there's no reason to assume a bid hasn't been made. I'd expect Fulham would have rebuffed the report otherwise.
