Dwight Gayle (now playing for Hibernian)

Recommended Posts

You've got to wonder if they watch full games to decide this or just go for the headline makers (goalscorers). How Shelvey hasn't made the shortlist is beyond me.

There's not a hope in hell that they watch any more footage than is available to the general public, and probably not much of that.  Merson doesn't even seem to watch the PL games he's providing updates on properly.

Rafa saying we need to be cautious with Gayle's fitness for the weekend. I'm expecting to see Mitro and Perez start if that's the case come Saturday.

No reason to rush him back when Mitro is banging them in, they'll both get plenty of chances to get a run of games.

So glad.....have we taken to this guy yet? i still think we love Mitro more :undecided:

Aye ........still think if a London club comes in for him he'll be off.

Thanks to Pardew not playing him, he'll be seen as too unproven in the PL for the only clubs that would be a step up. With Townsend also, Pardew has shown that hastily joining a PL also-ran may not be a step forwards.

Gayle would be better off sticking around and trying to bang in 25 for the season to show he can do it consistently when given the chance he should have had at Palace.

I think it will be us who decide to sell rather than him moving on. Said it enough times now, but pretty sure Rafa will be looking to bring in a top class forward when we go up, Gayle and Mitro will have to fight hard to prove they can score goals in the premier consistently. Nothing to say they can't mind, just Rafa doesn't strike me as the type to hope for the best.
