DeAndre Yedlin (now playing for Inter Miami)

Recommended Posts

It was desperate yesterday watching the back four in possession like, could barely get the ball into Diame/Shelvey, although overall we still did enough at the top end to make enough chances to at least get a point.

There's nothing we can do about Yedlin/Manquillo and Dummett, but hopefully Schar or Fernandez coming in for Clark will make enough of a difference to help solve this.

Our full backs are one of the biggest weak points in our team. Yedlin cannot defend for toffee and his distribution going forward is pretty poor also. Dummett can defend but is virtually non existent as an attacking threat with his distribution again being poor. Well done fat mike you utter cunt.

What's worse is that with all the money saved by loaning players like Rondon and Kenedy, we had more than enough to buy a couple of really top quality full backs, but we deliberately wasted two months chasing players who had no intention of coming here.

Only out till february potentially. Which means that ashley doesn't even need to splash out in January for cover as only another month! The ideal outcome for Ashley, potentially cripples any attempt by rafa to push on especially in cups by leaving him short in an important area AND doesn't have to spend a dime.

If the assumption is based off what Goff has said the timeline could be alot sooner than that. If its not his ACL then February would probably be the long time frame (assuming no set backs of course)

"promising news"

"back by February"

Promising news would be back in a couple of weeks

It is promising in the sense that it’s “only” a meniscus or PCL. ACL tears are career-enders, especially for players who rely on speed as a big part of their game.

He's alright, willing runner, always makes sure he is available to help attacks on that side and does defensive work to cover for Ritchie's lack of pace. He is not super reliable defensively but his pace covers cracks. We've had plenty of worse right backs and he seems likeable and commited to the Rafa project so I like him. Certainly there is room for improvement and we should have signed cover at the least, but not the 1st priority to sign a replacement for.

this is a pertinent point about him, we're about to find out just how much that impacts our overall play because a slow player on the same side as ritchie is going to hurt us imo

Get the feeling we may see a back three introduced with Matt Ritchie as a RWB of sorts at some point relatively soon.

Ritchie is not quick enough to do the RWB role imho
