Away Day Gadgie
Bet it was a typical Pardew "hang on to 1-0" loss too So bad to watch! Start fairly positively, score a goal, then cling on for dear life even if there's still 88 minutes to go. Disgusting person!
Figures 1-0 Football
Watford scored a goal! The good news for them there is that by keeping it so tight that goal earns them absolutely fuck all. Even by ‘going for it’ - their stats are remarkably similar to ours in our game. Just need someone to dissect the stats from a few websites to confirm it though. WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Swansea and WBA now four points from safety. You'd like to think that gap will only continue to widen.
afar
The important thing is for 2 clubs (preferably three) to start getting cut adrift, then we are only fighting to avoid the last spot . With the results of tonight we are 6 points clear of Brom and Swansea, that's a big gap. Stoke look dreadful right now, Watford and Southampton are in free fall. Huddersfield and Brighton are due a bad patch and Bournemouth have been unconvincing all season. Not too worried about Palace and West Ham winning, we are still ahead of both of them anyway. Disco
Swansea looked absolutely shite tonight but you know they're going to sit on their 18 yard line and make it hard for us to break them down. First half they were no adventurous than we were v City. Early goal or some positivity would be huge to stop everyone going acka. God forbid we get a debut goal from Juan Pablo Gol n all. Paullow
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/startseite/wettbewerb/GB1 I think that's a pretty good indication of where teams should 'expect' to finish. Obviously it's OK having expensive players on paper and you have to put that into practice, but when you consider that their 2 goalscorers against us + the fella who got a brace tonight cost £63 between them, plus quality like Lanzini, Kouyaye and even Hernandez to call upon if needed, they, like Palace have so much more quality than most of the other teams in relegation contention and should really be in and around the top half. Nobody
Seems as if anyone can bean anyone in the bottom half. Literally half the league are in a relegation battle as it stands. Would think that a couple of teams might be able to pull themselves out of it fairly soon, but it'll still be very tight down there this season I reckon. Three teams out of ten going down, and we're in a better position than the majority of them, I don't think we'll be too worried come April/May. louistoon
shite results for us but ah well. We still just need to beat the teams around us like we have been doing and we'll be fine.
Paullow
Seems as if anyone can bean anyone in the bottom half. Definitely. When you consider that very few non top 6 sides will get anything from the 12 matches against the top 6 (we have 1 from 6 games so far, Brighton, B'mouth no points from 6 etc) then when you look at the league table between the other sides without the top 6 then you can see that everyone are taking points. PLAYED WON DRAW LOST POINTS (ACTUAL POINTS) 1. Burnley 14 8 4 2 28 (34) 2. Leicester 14 7 5 2 26 (30) 3. Everton 14 7 3 4 24 (27) 4. Brighton 16 5 8 3 23 (23) 5. B'mouth 14 5 6 4 21 (21) 6.
