I'm with Ronaldo on this one, I don't think he's better than Gayle and don't think he'd have been first choice, so let's just move on to someone else.

Yep. Gayle is better and importantly more experienced.

He may end up being better but why should we pay Chelsea in order to help develop their player when he isn't a significant improvement on what we have ?

Thought this was a done deal? The currant bun have an exclusive where Celtic have joined the race at the last minute.

Moving to Celtic for him would be stupid in the extreme, especially if they get knocked out of the CL before the group stages again.

Hasn't been too bad a move for Moussa Dembele.

Chelsea are believed to have advised the 19-year-old against joining the Magpies, because they felt there were too many off-field distractions for a well-paid teenage footballer. They were worried that a city famed for its nights out would prove to be too much of a goldfish bowl for Abraham in a season away from Stamford Bridge.

Have they spoken to Jenas or something. Idiots.

I think they just wanted to put Atsu in the shop window to be fair. Abraham's likely going to be a very good player and they know it.

If they really think he's going to be a good player, then it probably suits them that he's at a lower profile club anyway. He's not likely to stay at Swansea, if he became a hero at Newcastle his profile would be much bigger and make him that much harder to deal with when his time was up here.

Telegraph says we tried to "hijack" his move to Swansea after he had told them he was going there. Sounds pretty desperate if true.

Not really you should be trying to hijack any move until the ink is dry if you are interested.

Keegan hijacked Shearer to Man Utd for example

But I thought they (Chelsea) had advising him previously to join us, as he'd experience the pressure of playing in front of huge crowds, etc??

All just media b*llocks, I suspect.

Like every other story out there, we dont know which ones are true. We're an easy subject to talk about, especially transfer talk as the majority know we are looking for the answer to 2+2.

99% of the shite attributed to us will equal anything but the right answer, however, hoy enough 3's, 5's, 6's and so on around until a lucky 4 can land.  This could easily be the case with Abraham.

Be interesting to be a fly on the wall in Charnley's office when he's pissing himself at the stories when he hasn't even bid for anyone but Lejeune.

Maybe we moved late on him because Swansea forced our hand. Makes sense if we are planning to do business in July, but one of our targets was getting away.
