Ikon
"Benitez still wants to add more in the days and weeks ahead and remains confident Mike Ashley, the club’s owner, will deliver them for him and he knows the type of characters and players he wants in his squad. Murphy is 22 and possesses bags of potential, but crucially he was also desperate to move to Tyneside and play for Newcastle and that is something Benitez feels got lost on the club before his arrival. Benitez said: “I’m happier (to get Murphy deal done). Our market has to be what we need, but sometimes we can’t afford players because sometimes the market is crazy. “Murphy is a young player with mobility and hunger. He wanted to come here and we want players who want to come and play for our club.” The Newcastle manager found last summer that players were keen to move to Newcastle and play under him – and he is seeing signs again that that is the case. The problem, though, has tended to be the prices being demanded for players." http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle/15418902.Newcastle__Rafa_closes_in_on_double_signing_and_he_wants_players_who_want_to_play_for_the_club_like_Murphy/

HaydnNUFC
Why does Ryder write one sentence as a paragraph ffs http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/rafa-benitez-new-boy-jacob-13350544 Rafa Benitez has revealed that Jacob Murphy is exactly the type of player Newcastle United were looking for this summer. The Toon boss says the 22-year-old wanted to sign for the Magpies so badly he told Norwich City he was ready to quit Carrow Road in order to sign for his boyhood team. Interestingly, Benitez also stated that Newcastle have an interest in his twin brother Josh - and that United tried to sign him last summer. Benitez knows United can’t compete with the big guns in terms of finance this summer and hinted they are working with a limited transfer kitty. Speaking about the England Under-21 star’s arrival, Benitez, speaking at United’s kit launch in Dublin, said: “It’s the type of player we are looking for. “It’s not that we are signing the top class players of the Premier League, we are signing the players we can. “We are signing the players that can do a job for us. “I am really pleased with him because he has shown character and personality. “His desire to play for Newcastle United was there.” Benitez also told the media that the club have a long-term interest in his brother Josh, a striker at Norwich. The United chief said: “Last year here in Ireland we were talking about his brother Josh. “We liked him. I was following both of them. “I received a lot of information about both. “In this case we were looking for this kind of player. “We’ll see if he can reproduce his performances from the Championship in the Premier League.” And when asked if a move for Josh Murphy was imminent, Benitez said: “I think we will have to wait a little bit. “One of them at the moment is fine!” Newcastle have had a successful week in Dublin so far with both Murphy and Javier Manquillo signing for the club and completing medicals in a city centre hospital. Former Real Madrid boss Benitez said: “Sometimes when you are looking for players you are wondering if they are technically good enough. “Or if they have pace or score goals or what they are like technically or tactically. “In this case is the main thing is he has pace and can score goals and pass. “But he wants to play for Newcastle United and that is a huge advantage. “I am sure he will be working so hard in front of our fans in every single game. “He’ll help the team and help competition in the team.”
AyeDubbleYoo
That's just web editing, taken quite extreme. Most media websites do it, they just take it further. One sentence paragraphs are perfectly fine when you're writing a web page.

The main body text is split like that for readability, into tiny chunks. Yeah, the headings and links etc are important for search.

Stifler
Ryder is just preparing himself for when the Chronicle do what proper clickbait websites do and give you one sentence before you have to click for the next page. I can't wait for next weeks article on the Metro that you have to click 1,739 times just to find out they didn't get government funding for new trains.
