Jacob "The Juice" Murphy

Recommended Posts

I’m as confident as I can be he will be in England squad end of season. Tuchel will love the directness he brings, and he’s literally the definition of something different on RW.

There was a ball in first half that he played behind defence for Barnes to run onto, which your typical left footed RW would never do.

He confused me today, looked of the few that had it all together when playing intricate passes to beat the press and keep the ball. Normally he's the 1 I worry about in those situations

Was coming here to post exactly this, usually he's the one looking all over the place but today he was one of the coolest heads and his decision making was top.

May well be a perfect storm of a situation that gets Murphy into the England squad.

This is his best ever season statistically, he's been fit/available for the whole season and Tuchel is here to win the next tournament and that's all, he won't be worrying about blooding 18/19 yr olds in the squads so much.

The only thing that is going to work against Murphy is another RW coming in summer and taking his spot. If he's not on the pitch for us he's not going to get in the England squad. He's not Foden.

Lots of people want us to sign Mbeumo and I am one of them. But given how well Murphy has done consistently and also the financial constraints, I won’t be surprised if the club goes for a younger and cheaper option like Matheus Fernandes from Southampton who plays CM but can also cover RW.

Maybe the RWB role gives him more space, time and in different areas to usual on the ball. Which allows him to get his passing sorted.

Small sample size. But he looked so much more comfortable in possession from the off. One of our best players with his passing and through balls. Probably only Bruno did it better.

Some of the passes he was making yesterday, least of all the one for Tonali's goal were nothing short of magnificent, his vision, execution and confidence are sky high right now.  Love Murph

Jacob getting an England call up would rival Burn's for feel good factor. Make it happen Tuchel.

He's exactly what tuchel wants. He is desperate for a 4-4-fucking 2

What Howe has done for this lads game and for Murphy to rise to the level he has, is just one of many feel good stories this team writes for itself. I was watching the "Midfield Maestro" video the club did with Sandro and the way he talks about Murphy specifically is really special.
