That and they own 60% of Chelsea in an around about way it would seem. Which seems a bit dubious ?

Did a search based on your comment, didn’t know PIF invested in Clearlake Capital but in all honesty because it’s portfolio of assets so would be hard to argue that PIF had any controlling interest in Chelsea.

This Saudi spending will soon be a problem. I know they own us , but with sponsors fair market value, what if the Saudis buy Casemiro and Kane for 200m each then its becoming a problem. Will they then put up a transfer fair market value ?

The way the Saudi league is going it won’t even be a waste. It will be a good league soon enough.

Wasn't that the same thought as Chinese league though when they were doing similar?

Saudi’s are offering a lot more money than China. They seem a lot more determined. Not just with football but with many different sports. There’s a real possibility it will become an actual super league. They have a population that are far more interested in football too.

Nah. The thing these leagues that attempt to pile money in to attract interest fundamentally misunderstand is that it's the teams and their history that are of interest, not the players. That's why Liverpool retained a massive global interest even when they were shite for 15 years.

Neves will vanish and be back in Europe within 18 months, a lot richer but with his career damaged.

They didn’t sign as many star players in such a short space of time , they also don’t have the money the Saudis do

They may not have got the Ronaldo type but they got players like Hulk and Oscar who were high profile at the time and paid them a fortune

If true... Really think this a game changer for us and the league.

It is way over budget and once complete there will be nothing anyone can say if Maxi or Miggy went for an inflated 80 to 100 million bid.

Or even lesser players for 10 20 million... Honestly feel they have found the cheat code

The issues are 1. You're relying on Miggy/ASM/whoever to be willing to go to KSA and 2. As soon as a deal between a Saudi club and NUFC is done its going to be scrutinised like no transfer in history. Any slight hint of "working the system", a memo, an email, an overheard conversation, the authorities are going to come down like a ton of bricks.

If Neves is 47mill then Miggy wouldn't be far off after the season he had.

That's why this deal opens up the opportunity. Every other deal was an end of contract or a deal that made sense due to the player / high wages.

This is the first one I'm aware of that breaks this model and includes a ridiculous transfer fee.

And I'm sure a lot of players will have their heads turned when they see the wages on offer.
