Other clubs' transfers

Recommended Posts

It's wankers like Boehly that have absolutely no fucking clue as to the genuine value of players who are responsible for inflating market prices for other clubs and close a competition loop, of sorts.

The Saudi stuff is an ostentatious sideshow and a bit of an anomaly. Having this lot in the PL today is a bit of a joke tbh.

Brighton could be scary if they reinvested the money they receive in transfer fees.

Brighton will never be scary. they're good operators, no doubt. but the club is tinpot and they'll always sell their best players no matter what.

That Caicedo fee is utterly obscene.

I think it's one thing to bid over the odds for a world cup winni g midfielder that few people have seen and who's club are insisting on a particular fee before they negotiate. It's another thing entirely for this egregious amount of money to be spent on a 21-year old (however talented) who has pretty much had one decent season for a club that has performed over and above expectations.

Really fucking hate Chelsea, Boehly, and everything that lot claim to stand for. Fuck all by way of legacy and history beyond football violence and oligarchical finance.

Get to absolute fuck.

Further confirmation that Chelsea are going for the fuck it, we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it approach to FFP and hope to tie them up with their lawyers many advocated us going for. Interesting to see how it’ll play out, can only hope it blows up in their face. All the more funny when they’re getting absolutely no value for money and I can’t say they’ve noticeably upgraded their squad to a level required to compete for titles or even guarantee top 4.

Wonder what kind of sell on clause Brighton have gotten included. Can't expect to get a whole lot more if it's a percentage of the profit of his next sale

Chelsea are bonkers, but they are signing great players. If Pochettino manages to galvanize them into a unit they'll be around the top positions at the end of the season. No European competition to get distracted by either.

The whole thing is a joke. Breaking the transfer record on a promising DM! Not a Shearer or a Rooney. If Poch whips Chelsea into shape, they're going to need door openers because half the league will set up in a low block against them. Chelsea with Caicedo will still lack goals. They're spending a fuckton but still look several players short. NUFC meanwhile mull over whether we need cover at RCB. A level one or two problem on a scale of one to ten.

Liverpool were prepared to pay the same fee, so the joke is on them too. In their defence, they are at least a high scoring team that needs to tighten it up at the back. A DM is their pressing need. They've revealed how deep their pockets are and how high the ceiling is, so this has pulled their pants down without filling that hole in their midfield.

Evan Ferguson to Spurs would be a clever use of the Kane cash, not sure how much he would go for though.

Brighton would want all of the Kane money for him. Possibly more.

I'd rather have Big Joe over Caicedo, he's clearly highly rated but I've not seen that much from him to warrant half that price.

100% agree

FFP

To be honest, because of the FFP they are now screwed either way. Most likely have to sell Gallagher and Chalobah during this season. And they may still end up breaking the UEFA rules, but not EPL rules. And if, and when, they don't qualify for UCL this season, they are in trouble.
