Classic case of a player playing since they were 17, hitting 500+ games well before they are 30 and basically being cooked. I feel similar may happen with Bellingham. He's only 21 but he's played 219 games already. Players bodies can only take so much regardless of age sometimes. Not always mind. Yep, especially in modern game where pressing and intensity is needed at top level. So players will drop off at an earlier age at the top, whereas the 00s you could still have wingers 33+ playing because it wasn’t the same press and intensity needed at the top. Defending could be the opposite, where game is more possession less recovery sprints, you should ‘in theory’ be able to stay at top end into mid 30s. Most of their signings have been young players from other markets. But total wage bill will be high due to the sheer number of players they have on the books.
