None of these are progressive signing imo - I don’t think you can get much more out of them - For the sake of argument - Rogers is a fantastic signing

Solves their defensive short falls and despite Felix definitely being some sort of money laundering scam for the big clubs I reckon he’d do well under Emery at Villa.

Just read a stat yet spent 154 million in the summer, only on of their summer signings has started more than 3 games. Their transfer business is questionable imo.

Maatsen, Onana, Barkley were all solid deals to me but that stat doesn’t reflect well on my point [emoji38]

They can’t get Felix and Disasi on loan can they ?

That Disasi tweet says he's agreed personal terms with Villa and the clubs are working to find an agreement.

Sounds like a permanent transfer.

Villa linked with some decent players. Disasi, Felix, Foyth. I’m getting Rafa vibes from Emery in the transfer market.

They’re all average players, that have shown in Premier League to be limited. They’re dropping money on names, where people will say it’s great business, but the needle doesn’t move and people act shocked.

May work though with Emery, but the Villa squad is slowly running danger of looking quite poor post Emery.

The Villa squad maybe deeper than ours on paper, but I don’t see any genuine quality in there like ours. They seem to be stockpiling a lot of good to average players, that won’t really take them to the next level.

Agreed, we’ve gone for a different strategy designed to have us competing at the top. Elite superstars coupled with high potnential youngsters. Quality over quantity. Hence now why Isak, Bruno, Tonali, Gordon are coveted.
Villa have got good but not great players. Other than Martinez I’m not sure I’d swap any players in their respective starting XI with ours

A lot of is PSR juggling.

Maatsen has barely played in the league but that’s a good signing and also a FFP move.

Kamara is quality like. Was the only good player in their game against West Ham

I really like Rogers just not sure where we would fit him in with our style.

Maatsen has been poor for them, Onana at c.£50m has not been a game changer in the way Tonali is for us in the centre. I'd say Onana is a bit of a miss in the way Diaby was, flashes of quality but lacks consistency and can look pretty terrible in certain games.

Their transfer business hasn't been great imo.

Kamara, Konsa, Rodgers are their core top players who have good sellable prices (Duran as well but not in the core right now).

It's mixed in with a good squad, but decisions will be made over next 12 months to cash in a one or two to balance out the current spending and couple of players approach 30/going wrong side. Duran is the get out of jail card, but if they feel Watkins output has peaked, they probably can't afford to move on Duran, unless they nail the replacement.

Louie Barry for me is their wild card. Probably should get him into the fringes of their first team squad and try and cash in on Bailey. Losing someone like him to think short term is the type of business they need to try and avoid. Their academy is one of the best as a regular fall back though, if they use it.

Same amount of goal contributions this season as Garnacho though, and Garnacho has barely been used since November. He's also 3.5 years younger. Also won trophies, including scoring in the final. Thoughts?

Using the logic on here, if Gordon is worth £80m, Garnacho should be £120m.

Garnacho isn't a certain starter for a bottom half side. Gordon is a certain starter for a top 5 side
