TheInfiniteOdyssey
Genuinely annoying how Saudis seemingly bail out our Premier League rivals quite often. Bet Nunez goes to Saudi for a high fee as well.

Meh, Martinez and Bailey will have suitors elsewhere, both being decent players. Can also see why Martinez would be a useful additional to their domestic league. But it's not like it's PIF selecting the targets, they're just the money men. Edited April 30 by The Prophet

Yeah maybe but not at the kind of fees the Saudis will be paying. Martinez is 32 and Bailey is coming off a less than stellar season and been pretty inconsistent his whole career. That being said it's obviously not something within my control so not going to get worked up about it

kingxlnc
ASM should have gone for 50m. We underplayed it big time because we didn’t want the attention it would bring. He’s the entertaining type of player he had plenty of time on his contract and was doing well here. We don’t have anyone else in that B/C tier that the Saudis would want. Unless it’s one of the goalkeepers, because the rest of ours are English and unsexy willock would be a good fit in Saudi but can’t see him wanting to go and not a big enough name. Neither is Murphy or Barnes. Or Longstaff or Targett or anyone we actually don’t mind getting rid of.
Hanshithispantz
If Leon Bailey goes for more than Maxi then it's obvious why people would be bothered by it like The Premier League has become almost entirely about 'managing' some arbitrary PSR system and we seem to be the only club not allowed to fish in the biggest pond. It's understandable only up until you know how much of a con PSR is.
Yorkie
I don't really mind the Saudis buying players from other PL teams. Totally undermines any virtue-signalling thrown our way by dickhead fans of other clubs. Also makes any success we have all the more sweeter if our rivals are benefiting from Saudi coin too. Kid Icarus
Does make me wonder whether it's an attempt to keep the other premier league teams sweet and not bite the hand that feeds if/when we spend more
Whitley mag
Jacob Murphy must be worth a tidy sum to a Saudi club at this stage, much better numbers than Bailey this season, or Nunez.

I'm someone who is sick of the Villa praise of late But they have bought/sold/developed players extremely well imo If they were given a £80m helping hand from Saudi, and bought a couple defenders/Rashford/Asensio or replacements etc, they'd be hard to match next season

It's always a bitter pill for me to swallow seeing them offer mad money for the likes of Duran and Henderson, then you hear rumours of players like Casemiro going for big fees too, but we're selling ASM for a measly 20m. We've a viable loophole to help with PSR and I get why maybe the owners don't want to do it but when you see cunts like Chelsea selling their women's team and carparks to themselves to get around PSR then I think we should use every trick we can too.
