Pretty funny really. Juve fans must be fuming.

GeordieDazzler Posted Thursday at 13:08 Share Posted Thursday at 13:08 Juve have been an absolute mess for years. Quite a few Man U parallels in their transfer and manager polices.

Dr.Spaceman Posted yesterday at 08:08 Share Posted yesterday at 08:08 Looks like he's had a rough time of it with his two loan spells since signing for Manchester. Nice to see it's not just us who brings in young forrins only to immediately ship them off to a unsuitable clubs.

Withdean was a terrible stadium and place to watch football. It also wasn't much bigger than those attendances even at its biggest. The two years 2-3k was them playing in Gillingham. Obviously their attendances jumped to 20k in 2012 in the second tier and with a new stadium - but that's hardly unusual across the football league to see similar growth. Wish we’d been all in for him last summer (as per our rumoured interest) rather than fannying around haggling with Parish for the vastly overpriced Guehy. We’d have one CD position sorted for the next decade an a half for a pittance if we had.

Just we’d have some profit to show for it, but back to square one on the board. Probably why we didn’t make a move as we want the CB and majority of first team signings here for a few seasons at minimum.

Like loans, I don't think we'll ever see Eddie really buy in to getting players in for a quick flip. It'll happen on special occasions like Targett and Kelly, but he only wants players who fundamentally see their future with him and the club. I think it's pretty clear that was not going to be the case with Huijsen.

Not buying at all that Huijsen would be willing to prove his worth at Bournemouth, but not join a Newcastle side clearly on the up. I suppose we’ll never know if we were in for him, but we definitely should have been, regardless of whether he would have wanted a release clause. You can’t go wrong with bringing in a massive talent for under the price of an average Championship player, even with a release clause allowing to make your money back four times over if Madrid come knocking. For that to happen he’d have to have done really well in the first place anyway, wouldn’t he?
