The Brazil market gets overhyped far too much it’s laughable. Rather we spent £40m on three British players who are better.

Could rattle off 15 names straight away that have moved in past 24 months and done fuck all, and cost probably like £300m. Then people will go ‘yea, but Murillo and Vini Jr’.

Like us for every Wharton, you’d have a Johnathon Rowe. And that bottom player is infinitely better.

Reports in Brazil - Igor Jesus has signed for Forest from Botafogo (sorry if old news).

I have doubts he will transition well to the PL.

Delap only signed a 6 year contract with Chelsea, worrying for the lad to go there as a short term stop gap.

Yea, nothing dodgy about that deal at all.

Football really needs to clamp down on multiple ownership.

If multi-club ownership is going to be allowed (it really shouldn't be allowed at all), then related party ownership transfers and loans absolutely need to be completely banned.

It's so obviously going to get abused more and more as a means to avoid PSR. How on earth do you try and regulate fair market value on player transfers?

Dunno if he will but Delap needs to play. He's very much "work in progress". Forgetting financials and age profiles, on current ability alone, I'd expect Mateta or Wissa to score more for them. Chelsea need Delap to step up and as a CL club, they can't wait long for that to happen.

Before joining Chelsea, Nkunku was Bundesliga Player of the Season. I don't know if thats a Bundesliga thing, a Chelsea thing, or an injury thing, but they're now going with a player from a relegated club. I dunno if he deserves it, I don't watch Chelsea, but there could well be a player still in there if someone can get it out. This is not Jadon Sancho who's had 5000 Premier League minutes. Nkunku's only had 11 starts.

Nah, can't be true, Man U fans were claiming reports of £60m was false

Brentford know the pull of Man U, they'll sell him without any resistance

No, Manchester United fans were saying the reports of any fee or wages were false because we haven't submitted a bid yet or had an agreement with the player.

For all talk of not repeating the same mistakes it looks like they are overtly and publicly pursuing whichever flavour of the month (or season) target they have set their heart on and will end up vastly overpaying to avoid looking stupid.

The signings they are making though at least should be useable under a new manager come November. Better off signing these then some shite from Portuguese league that Amorim would want.

Him and his agent must have some idea ? I can't imagine in this day and age he wants to play for Man Utd because he loves the club.

I think there's a huge difference in going for Premier League proven players on £200,000 a week rather than spending £70m+ on players from foreign leagues and giving them £300,000 a week. But that's just me.

I don't know how anyone could look at signings like Cunha and Mbeumo and suggest they're not good for us, but people will find a way.

Well for all the £250,000 talk, Fabrizio Romano has come out and rubbished that. As expected.

Just listened to the Talk of the Devils podcast too (thanks Disco). Laurie Whitewell saying that it's all come from the North East. Bruised reporting was his words. Definitely not my words.

Even if Mbeumo asks 200 000 and not 250k, it is way more than NUFC can pay, so money talks.

You probably thought the same about the players who didn't pan out. I'd snap them both up instantly, but the biggest issue at Manchester United isn't the players themselves.

Of course it does, and that's something I've never denied. It's not the only factor, but it's a factor.

My issue was with the completely false reporting to try and make it look a lot worse than what it is.

Aye we've been burned many times with transfers like Sancho. But to say this approach is the same as the past isn't true. We're obviously hoping to pay a bit more to get players that need no bedding in and will hit the ground running.

I get excited by any new player though. Was looking forward to seeing Ighalo and Weghorst.
