It's about the wage package, not just the weekly wage. You can take 150,000 as long as you defer the extra 60k into the signing on fee, loyalty bonus + benefits. So in that case spurs can easily do it

Menace Posted yesterday at 14:33 Share Posted yesterday at 14:33 Spurs will have Brennan Johnson and Mbeumo challenging for RW if he signs - almost £120M in one position.

Giving how lacking they on LW, Johnson would likely move there. Don’t think they’re signing Tel? Son is done as a player and Richarlison has been a waste of time and money. Odebert and Moore the wingers behind. It’s a very raw collective if that happened, Mbeumo aside. Edit: Forgot Kulu for RW too. He'll likely play the role Damsgaard did for Frank at Brentford this season, when he used a 4-2-3-1.
gdm Posted yesterday at 15:14 Share Posted yesterday at 15:14 Be the funniest shit ever if Mbeumo signs for spurs after all the “that’s the Man Utd pull” wankers

The College Dropout Posted yesterday at 15:43 Share Posted yesterday at 15:43 I would assume Spurs have told camp Mbeumo what their ballpark wage would be and it’s a goer.
gbandit Posted yesterday at 15:47 Share Posted yesterday at 15:47 One of the few positions where Spurs don’t need to spend big on improving their squad and they’re dropping £70m on a player, it’s fucking hilarious
toon25 Posted yesterday at 15:50 Share Posted yesterday at 15:50 Frank obviously knew that's what would make Brentford budge. He's doing them a massive fucking favour paying that.
Optimistic Nut Posted yesterday at 15:53 Share Posted yesterday at 15:53 They'll be a nuisance again next season. Can see 2-3 teams clear at the top then a group of 5-6 with little between them.
KaKa Posted yesterday at 15:56 Share Posted yesterday at 15:56 I knew Levy would pull this stunt as soon as Frank looked like a goer for Spurs, and with them having secured the Champions League. Makes too much sense. You're almost guaranteed the best of Mbeumo that way, and it's a position of need. Levy also spends money. He just does so badly. In this instance he knows exactly what he's going to get from the player under Frank. As close to a risk free transfer as you can get. Knew he'd come in and pay what Brentford want. KaKa Posted yesterday at 15:58 Share Posted yesterday at 15:58 Son has fallen off and is about to leave Spurs. They need a winger to replace the sort of output he has been giving them. Not sure why people think they don't need Mbeumo.
The College Dropout Posted yesterday at 16:00 Share Posted yesterday at 16:00 Yep and I think Johnson is tactically flexible. SO is Mbeumo tbh.
SUPERTOON Posted yesterday at 16:01 Share Posted yesterday at 16:01 So he isn’t only interested in the money then, because spurs don’t pay the wages Man Utd do.
Optimistic Nut Posted yesterday at 16:01 Share Posted yesterday at 16:01 One of the only worries about signing a top player from a mid-table team is that the old team might fit their game around its star, which the new club won't do. I think him going back under Frank will pretty much guarantee he just follows what he's been doing. Annoying.
Pilko Posted yesterday at 16:03 Share Posted yesterday at 16:03 Really hope he goes there just to blow all the Man U shit talk out of the air. I'd love us to go for Kulusevski on the back of that move, doubt it'd happen but would be mint.

Spurs will be matching the money or coming damn close I imagine. Also, that will only really come into play if Man Utd match the fee to Brentford, which they don't seem to be willing to do so far. Ketsbaia Posted yesterday at 16:13 Share Posted yesterday at 16:13 The £70m fee If that's most of Spurs' summer load, they'll not be a threat.
Optimistic Nut Posted yesterday at 16:15 Share Posted yesterday at 16:15 They'd get about £40m for Kulusevski you'd think? Think they'd be fine.

Spurs are really rich aren't they?! They were spending around £60 million on Ndombele 6 years ago! This will be nothing to them, especially with Champions League this year. Andy84 Posted yesterday at 16:17 Share Posted yesterday at 16:17 Clearly a condition of Frank going there was probably an insistence that Mbuemo gets done. Would be canny funny
