Might you be able to change your avatar to something less like mine please?  Keep thinking I'm losing my mind and going "Hang on, I don't remember posting that..."

That better?

Bellingham to whomever is a gamble for the club. Is it wise to put so much money in 1 player?

Surely every transfer is a gamble for a club

Of course but with FFP limiting total spend then this type of player becomes much more of a gamble. In days gone by a mega rich team could sign multiple back ups of almost equal stature.

I'm wondering if more of a spreading the wealth around the squad approach will be taken by many clubs. That is what Liverpool is basically saying and I believe we are in that situation to some extent as our squad still needs quite a bit of work.

Gallagher and Mount to Liverpool could be like when they let go Salah and De Bruyne, I don’t think they’ll be at the same elite level but they could both be very good under the right manager.

Shades of PSG selling their young local talent to bring in exorbitantly expensive mercenaries. Yeah PSG are a super club now but is anyone there really happy with where the project is?

With regards to PSG being happy, clearly not. It’s a disaster of a club. If they can’t win the CL then the club is a failure, that’s as simple as it gets. You can’t have players on your books earning the money they earn and not be winning the CL or at least getting to the final. Some fans turned on Messi because they’re imbeciles. They’re a joke

Nah he does epitomise everything wrong with the club and he's trying to go back to Barcelona. If I was a PSG supporter - i'd be fed up of him and the like too.

He might want to go back to Barcelona, understandable if he does. That doesn't take away from him being one of their top two best performers all season and individually being the best performer in many games I’ve watched. He’s not the kind of person to start throwing performances. Sure, PSG are an idiotic club for bringing him in as a vanity product rather than trying to grow the club in a more organic way but that’s not Messi’s fault

Can Mount play 8?

In a midfield three yeah.

A lot of 10s are increasingly being used as a third 8 in a 4-3-3 that is tasked with unlocking defences and/or scoring goals. Odegaard at Arsenal for example. Or even the way De Bruyne is used there now, and David Silva was also his final years at Man City too etc.
