Why would any of you be surprised that he’d go to West Ham? He already agreed a move in principal there before Real Madrid eventually went for him.

If Ashley doesn’t play ball, and also put something in writing. I believe Rafa is leaving the discussions to his agent and legal team. Any assurances will have to be air tight.. if that doesn’t happen.. well he wants to stay in England and he’d never manage Everton, so..

Did you read any of the posts above ? Do you know anything of the West Ham Situation? FFS man.

West Ham are in no more of a state than we were when he came here first. He likes projects. He could easily turn them into a top 6 side with the right backing.

Honestly don’t have the stomach to debate these media links. If Ashley backs Rafa he’ll stay and we’ll be class. If not, he’ll walk and it’s all over. Nothing changes with links to West Ham. Obviously any number of clubs would want the guy.

He also didn't have a job when he came here, he didn't have to leave a situation where the fans adore him, with a year left on his contract. He would also be leaving a one club city for a club that competes with about 30 others for attention, something he is very very big on.

Wow Ian, talking sense, after his Southgate love affair, that's good to see :p You nailed that dude, all on what Ashley does.

Wish I could be all that confident. For all the faults West Ham have they are at least ambitious and have owners that are ( slightly) more honest. Don’t nt think we can rule it out

I think West Ham fans will disagree on both counts of ambition and honesty

Think in a way this is lining up perfectly for Ashley. If West Ham make Rafa an offer with guaranteed money and control, Ashley just refuses to match it and basically forces Rafa into an ultimatum - back down in his demands or go to West Ham. Either way, Mike wins. If Rafa leaves, he gets the compensation money and can bring in another yes man of his choosing that's easier for him to deal with and won't have to give as much money to to spend.

If Rafa stays, and backs down, that's a pretty big shift in "power" in terms of negotations.

I have no doubt Rafa wants to stay here, but he won't stick around unless he's given what he needs to move the club forward. Hence what I mean about this working out for Ashley. West Ham making a serious move for Rafa forces him to make one of those decisions.

He’s been fucked over time and time again by Ashley and he won’t be again. This West Ham episode might actually work in our favour and force Ashley’s hand- if not he will be away either to West Ham or another club who will give him the investment he needs. Over to the fat cunt now but I’m not holding my breath

They are not ambitious, that's the biggest gripe with their fans, here's one quote from their forum:

I'd love Rafa' date=' but that would take up about 97% of our summer transfer budget.[/quote']

There's absolutely no way Ashley wins if Rafa leaves like. Ashley has shown time and time again that he hates protests, can you imagine the scale of them if Rafa left? Especially when some cunt would just replace him.

He'll do what he did in the past - put the club up for sale, reject any offers that come in and then say, what was it? "We're stuck together"? I think that was the quote. He doesn't give a fuck.

Club already is for sale though and he already fucked a sale up once this season. He can't fall back on that "the club is for sale" shit again.

Logically, never going to happen.

However, just to be pessimistic...remember when Karren Brady randomly decided to publicly back Mike Ashley? Was that because Ashley is mates with Gold and Sullivan and so they got her to mouth off about Geordies when it was none of her business to be defending a crook like Mike? It's entirely feasible that they're mates given the things they have in common: cockneys, tacky business owners (Gold = knickers, Sullivan = porn, Mike = sports tat), own PL football clubs, lie to fans alot, undermine managers, dodgey deals, most likely pilfering money from the club. If so, there could be merit in this. Ashley will be believing he can get the club to survive on a cheap yes man type, tells Rafa behind the scenes that he's not going to get another penny, meanwhile gets his mates at West Ham to buy Rafa for £6m which they're more than happy to since Rafa is world class. Rafa decides to go there because he has limited choices if he wants to remain in England in the Premiership and will be getting promises of spending big at West Ham. Mike Ashley laughs all the way to the bank having gotten rid of a "No Man" for £6m, and having a convenient excuse to say "we tried". Everyone wins in Ashleys eyes.

If Rafa goes, it will be to a top club and not one that is as big a basket case as what NUFC is. Ashley is treading dangerous water, IMO. If Rafa walks then surely many of the match going fans will go with him. After-all, what will be the point to NUFC then, with more of the same?

I would stop watching football all together if this happened, mind. West fucking Ham. Imagine.

This. Only a top 6 club would concern me though, not West Ham. The story was inevitable, West Ham get linked to all sorts of big name transfers and nothing ever comes of it, the press down there are right up their arse. I remember Neil Custis on the sunday supplement a few weeks ago asking the others why they get so much attention and no one disagreed with him, even journalists see it.

Didn’t they spend a fair whack over the summer ?

I read that link I posted for net spend above wrong they actually made 11 million in transfer fees last year !! Bought Anatovic for 20 Million but sold Ayew for the same price. The 16 million for Hernandez was covered by a bunch of sales including 7 million for Ashley Fletcher ffs boro :)

If Rafa wanted to go to a more badly run club, West Ham wouldn't be a bad choice.

If Ashley f** up and Benitez leaves, he ain`t going to WH. Situation there is dire. He can choose better club to manage than WH.
