This is all excellent news for them, sadly.

They could come out of this alright now, get back to the championship debt-free and things aren't looking too bad long-term. Saving Coleman also a good move, he's shit. Did well with Wales because Bale, but his club career is pretty dire and a far better indication of his abilities.

They will need to spend millions and millions just to get out of that division and then the Championship, we won’t be seeing them for a long time unless we went down. Coleman was a mug for taking that job in the first place, you can only assume after Wales there was zero interest in him and that he was doubling his wages at least. If Short has paid off any debt, fair play to him. I’ve always said he was an ambitious owner who just got bored or rather sick of seeing various managers and appointed people spend millions on dross just keeping the, up and the mackems refusing to invest in their own team by way of paying for tickets and attending games.

They won’t be back in premier league for a long time.

Utter lunacy from Short. Why not hoy £15m at them at the start of the season and he’d have a championship club to try and sell.

I dare say he's fed up of that old game and just wants out.

Incidentally, the money is coming from a 'group of international football investors'. It'll be interesting to see how that pans out.

They’ll fucking walk league one man.

Really poor league. If Wigan can stroll it twice and Blackburn go up with ease top then they also can. Bolton also came back up.

However they will be trapped in the lower leagues for quite a number of years now I’d imagine.

They could be in danger of being a yo yo club like Wigan are staring to become.

Indeed. The championship is the honey that this little cockroach will get caught in.

Will they? That league is full of clubs like Burton who beat them a week ago. It will be a tough league to get out of, new owners or not.

Sickening news. Today is a good day for them, no point pretending otherwise. They will piss league 1 too. In fact, if they had just kept Grabban and bought a half decent keeper they would have stayed up this season.

And these fuckers think they are unlucky? In the aame position Ashley would have wound us up.

This is as positive an outcome for them as possible tbh. Incredible that Short would just write off the debt completely so that they effectively start next season with a £30m + advantage over the rest of the league due to the parachute payment.

For all they will be paying higher wages generally, should they get out at the first attempt they'll have been 'rescued' by Short's decision.

Effectively, it allows them to start again, like a new club but with a huge head start.

'Groups' of Investors rarely work out in football though imho. Too many cooks. The only way it could work is if they appoint a figurehead and the other money men sit quietly in the background.

Again, they will not piss league 1. They will be everyone’s cup final and will need to get the right players and manager in. It’s good news for them RE the takeover, but only if the new owners are credible, ambitious and have a clue. Short on the face of it wasn’t a bad owner, but look where they have ended up. We won’t be seeing them for a long time unless we go down again ourselves. Their recovery could take a decade easily.

Mick McCarthy rumoured to be inbound as their new gaffer.

If Cardiff don’t go up, I’d throw good money at Warnock if I was them.
