You can argue about the rights and wrongs of the Saudis and their motives as long as you like, its a different thread, but they've not bought a PL team to mess about with. It's not a plaything a random American billionaire has bought to have a bit of fun with, these people mean serious business and they will throw a huge amount of cash at it to make it a success by their own criteria. They're perfectly entitled to take the piss or whatever but they ultimately know that, as far as regional competition is concerned, they're dead in the water. I'm quite happy to leave them exactly where they are, laugh occasionally at their misfortune and let them get on with it. We're effectively orbiting different suns now.
