We are just destined never to score a goal from our own half. Rob Lee had one ruled out for offside decades ago, this time Schar hits the bar and misses by literally inches.

An offside awarded to us! Insane!

00:50 was close.

Also Beardsley’s first touch for the second goal is mega.

25,000 there that day. Everton's previous home game against Southampton 13,000.

He was mostly a midfielder for us in the PL after we went up - he didn’t start playing RB again until late in 95/96.  We usually played him RW or CM in the PL in the two and a half seasons before that.

The lad was incredibly versatile.

94/95 at home to Southampton (I think) word got out that Watson was playing CF. He was still 18/1 for first goalscorer, we all lumped on and he duly obliged

Crap first season (as was everyone)

Found his feet in the Championship

Steady away back in the PL

Outstanding in the season we finished 5th

Shocking every season after that

he did have the usual "off the field issues".

I still don’t fully get how a guy got a yellow for multiple fouling Schar in the box and it wasn’t a pen.

When Yoro pushed him over? Because the ball wasn’t in play/the corner hadn’t been taken.

Not just the push, he was constantly being fouled. Slightly weird situation IMO, you could argue the referee should

let the corner be taken and then give the foul. But I dunno what the rules are.

Aye you can’t give a foul if the ball isn’t in play.
