Anderson
I mean it was always clear Rafa had him playing above his level. He’s technically great for a CB, but suspect defensively. System was tailor made to play to his strengths and help nullify his weaknesses.
nemtizz
Which is also why he looked defensively suspect in his first couple months here.

Menace
Completely on him why he's been shite this season isn't it? Nothing to do with Bruce..
Guest Butcher
He’s never been good in a back four as he he’s not a very good defender.
Holmesy
Makes a basic mistake - managers fault His fault clearly, but it’s not just one mistake is it - he looks a shadow of the player he has been, in every capacity. He’s been sat on the bench most of the season and then played in an unfamiliar midfield role 2 games in a row where he didn’t exactly excel. Then he’s put into a back 4 against a high-pressing Spurs team. Bruce sees him every day and should know his strengths and weaknesses. Maybe Rafa’s attention to detail has given me unrealistic expectations of what a manager should be/do. ??♂️
Anderson
Makes a basic mistake - managers fault Literally nobody’s said that. Haydn said the complete opposite in fact. Completely on him why he's been shite this season isn't it? Nothing to do with Bruce.. Might as well just do away with managers, they clearly have no impact on players’ performances. Disco
Looked a sore one at the end. Definitely a player who benefits from having an organised micromanager too. Hitzfeld, Petković, Rafa.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Actually played some decent passes out from the back tbf. Miles better than watching Lascelles and Fernandez play six one-twos between themselves.
Yorkie
A player with particular attributes signed to play a particular role. Has struggled since that role has changed. That shows his limitations, obviously, but you do get limited players when you're dabbling in the ~£3-5m market.
Newcastle Fan
He lost the ball for their first goal but overall he looked better today than he did at midfield, i think he's a good player but under Bruce he won't improve too much.

We could have added a 2 in front of that price 12 months ago, we’ll be lucky to get double it after this season especially with only 12 months to go on his contract. Infinitely Content
Pleasure to see him back to his usual self in the second half today. Quality player.
huss9
ok his fault for the first goal. but the second was even worse - and that's bruce's fault. the positioning of the defenders was all over the place. never happened under rafa.

I completely disagree with this. Kane pulls out wide onto the RB. CB can't just follow and leave a huge gap in the defence.
johnny36
He just seems to want to take an extra touch instead of releasing the ball early.. if he released ball a bit earlier he mightn't have got hurt though you could say the same last year when he kept going and going and scored against Cardiff so its swings and roundabouts.. just think he holds onto the ball a bit too long when he could release it earlier

Guest Butcher
He’ll only stay if the next manager plays a back five imo. Shipped out if not.

Just seems to have a mistake in him ATM. I still hope he stays. Under a new manger he can improve again.
