Yeah, fair enough - I’m not going to argue with a Peep Show quote :)

It was a general point mate not specific to you. I think some of it is pent up frustration with PSR and the ceiling it’s created. We’re a good team with good players and we win more often than not.

Everyone is happy that a player is leaving. To my mind that demonstrates everything about the virtues of Almiron relative to where we want to be.

The PSR situation is a weird one - I do think that if PSR didn’t exist, and the owners had been able to spend what they want, I doubt Almiron would have been here for as long as he has; at the same time, it has made fans view players as commodities even more than they were in the past.

I’m not happy re Almiron leaving - I’d defended him in the past on here - but I do think it’s the right time to go for all parties.  This one doesn’t feel like a celebratory transfer out at all - more like just one of those things which happens at clubs; sometimes players outgrow the club, sometimes clubs outgrow the player.  I’d be amazed if Almiron is thought of negatively in the future (I suspect he’s more likely fade from the memory banks unless something brings his name up), but bugger me I’ve seen less talented players in B&W and (sadly) absolutely shitloads with a worse attitude than this lad.

It’s just so gratuitous. There’s so much negativity on here. Joyless support at times.

I thought I'd add something different to the discussion as his stats are not often qualified when compared directly with Jacob Murphy for example, yes Murphy gets more assists, but why?

I can't speak to the general feel, but personally I think I'm pretty balanced when it comes to discussing players' qualities. I also see what others say he brings to the table written on almost every page - gives all effort, does his best etc. I didn't see much value in me writing the same thing again at the end of my post about his vision as a 'safety smilie'.

Probably the best footballer of all time TBH.

Aye, this is the biggest thing he's going to be remembered for, I think he's the hardest working footballer we've had in my lifetime at least.

Splicing any footballer with 'Almiron's work ethic' is going to improve them, that's a real nod to him as not only a player, but as a person.

Biggest impact was Grealish essentially calling him shit. Kicked on, put up numbers Grealish dreams about and likely will be at WC26 whilst Grealish prances around with 18yr olds and Wayne Lineker at Ocean Beach.

I know where I'd rather be :Jonny2J:

Hes's a bit of a NO cult hero tbh. Someone described him as possessing "a wand of a left foot" or similar.

Pleased he's got a good move, a cracking player and bloke all round, given the right backing when he retires I reckon he could run for President of Mexico.

Imagine Ben Arfa's talent with Almiron's work ethic

To quote Rio.....Ballon D'Or

I think maybe his lack of work ethic fed into his talent. There’s an element of carefree-ness to being able to wander  through a defence like he did
