If he’s going, I’m 100% sure we’ve got someone lined up in his place already. We’re threadbare as it is, the board and Eddie know we can’t let someone go without replacing them.

He has a reported market value of around €30m, so if you can get between that and €40m for him as "fair value" then it's a sensible transfer with Murphy and Barnes due back.

His energy is unparalleled but at some point you have to trade that in for actual quality.

Meanwhile, back in the real world.....

This was nearly a week ago.

I don't rate Miggy, but in the current market, £25-30m to a Saudi club isn't unrealistic like, when you look at what they've spunked on other players.

In terms of contributions, he's been far more valuable for us over the past 12 months than ASM ever was for example, and he fetched a similar fee.

Wouldn't let him go to Saudi for less than that.

The problem is it feels like we are under super scrutiny and waiting for liverfool and Tottenham to jump on anything. It felt like it went the other way for asm on that basis and under valued.

Don't really get how you can even set a market value.  All depends how much a team wants a player. Caicedo going anywhere for 115 mill is crazy

Think we can change the thread name now - Jacobs is a notorious shit talker and always has been.

Well he's caused a shitstorm on this place for no reason if he's made it all up.

I wonder if we are already at the breaking FFP point chaps.

Feels like since Everton and Forrest got done we have shit the bed and we are throwing players around left right and centre to sell.

Or,,,, if just could all be a pile of turd.

It feels like we are hawking our players around a bit, this  Miggy deal certainly feels like it's more club led than the player himself wanting to go.

it could be that we overestimated the CL revenue for this season. we probably did not think we gonna end up in group of death and finish 4th with only 1 win in 6. many other groups we are easily 3rd at least or even 2nd in some with more wins and more bonus money for later rounds. or at least some consolation prize money from EL after being 3rd in group.

with the coeff points play a big part of the total CL prize money we get fucked really with the shit coeff points.

we will get something like 30m pounds more or less from Uefa. Arse and City will get 60-65m easily even if they lose and exit CL right next round which they wont. if they go till the end its more like 90-100m overall.

and now we try offset the projected difference by selling players quickly. this may be the reason as long as we only have outgoings this window. but last 3 days of the window can be crazy, teams done nothing for 30 days can go crazy in last 24 hour. if we only sell 1-2 players without a decent one coming in thats probably us needing to balance the spending.

He is 30 next month, believe it or not. Given his frustating play at times I think probably decent deal if we can cash in.

So long as it allows us to upgrade.

If money were no object here, he'd be a great backup.

We obviously knew we'd be getting far less than the other English clubs. If any of our plans required us reaching the knockout round (without knowing the groups) then we're run by morons, which I don't think we are.

I do think it's possible that a combination of no Europa League + our current position in the table has made it closer than we'd like.
