Some Steve Bruce type of management for Norway today. Stick 11 players behind the ball and hope that Ødegård, Haaland and Sørloth makes something happen in attack. So frustrating to have the most talented set of players we'll see in generations available and still start with a rigid 4-4-2 with three central defensive midfielders, one of them forced out on the left wing and Ødegård right wing.

Such a shame some of those players won’t be seen in the Euros. Some really promising talent and the best Norway squad in years.

Henriksen, a clubless medicore player, starting in front of Normann, one of our better midfielders in ages.

Johansen, a player that can't crack the Fulham starting eleven, or their bench, starting ON THE WING, ahead of Hauge who just signed (and plays) for AC Milan - and is, again, perhaps the most talented winger we've had in a generation.

It's insanity. The way we improved when we changed to a 4-3-3, dominated Serbia for the ten minutes it lasted - until we equalized and it was everyone behind the ball again rather than going for a winner, at home, with the most talented squad we've ever had.

It's a weird thing to say, as usually Lagerback would be an amazing fit as a manager for a Norwegian national team as we usually have very few actually gifted footballers - but we actually have attacking talent for once that starts for some of the best clubs in Europe, we need an attacking minded manager to cover for our defensive deficit rather than a defensive minded manager that allows us to get exposed for having a shit defense.

Serbia hit 20 crosses got through to Mitrovic from our left side, nine major chances created, where Johansen (not a winger) and Alesaami (another player currently without a club) played. No corrections were made there until an injury to Johansen forced it, and we immediately improved.

From our right side they didn't create one major chance.

We've scored more than once in a game twice since the beginning of 2017, once against Gibraltar and once against Moldova (both two goals). With each passing game it becomes more apparent that Robbie Keane scoring 68 international goals for us is one of the greatest achievements of all time

Wow, that's an insane stat.

Oh, what a surprise, starting an actual left winger, a left back with a club and a central midfielder that plays regularly suddenly makes us look like a team that can't be absolutely raped on the left and enables us to string together more than two passes. Who'd have thought?

Oh my, what a surprise, the left back WITH AN ACTUAL CLUB manages to defend and assist a goal. I can't take no joy in us being good when this is how good we would have been in the match that actually mattered. Jesus fucking christ.

I mean, starting the best in-form eleven possible makes us play well. Amazing tactics. Much better than starting players you've refused to bench even though they've not played well since at least three years ago and we have some of the most talented Norwegian players in a generation just warming the bench as the 30 year old geriatrics out there let Serbia run riot.
