The overwhelming evidence over the last 22 years points to Bruce being an awful manager, it's there in black and white, his record is terrible. His stats are among the worst that have ever been seen in the PL era and that's not even up for debate, he's tried and tested garbage, utter shite with the odd purple patch here and there masking his lack of managerial ability. He'll get no credit for last night's draw from me because it wasn't down to him. If Steve Bruce was capable of getting that performance out of any of his sides on a regular basis then he would have done so decades ago. He didn't. He hasn't. He's shite. Unequivocally. His sides produce a performance out of the ordinary despite him, not because of him.

If he was any good then the successful clubs of the last 20 years would have been after him. You think Man U put him on their shortlist when Ferguson retired? They've been through 3 or 4 since and not once even considered him even though he's a 'legend' there. Chelsea have had even more, you think they've once thought about him? Arsenal? He's palpably rotten and shouldn't be managing at this level any longer. Sooner he fucks off the better.

AYE.

You can’t give him credit for Liverpool, as it was all down to their strikers not having their shooting boots on. Any other day and it would have been a humping.

Honestly there was nothing different in that Liverpool game from him except we had a number of standout individual performances and liverpool were terrible.  Guessing the credit he should be given was for picking the side.

When our keeper gets man of the match it's all you need to know

I remember Trevor Francis saying once that if anyone was going to get something from St James' the away keeper had to be man of the match. Now it has to be our keeper. ☹️

His comments about Arsenal have held up well.

Remind iz?

Was giving it big licks about Arsenal being on 14 points and being above them. Can’t remember the exact words.

I'm also not sure about the wording  but him and his arsehole mates said something like "above Arsenal in the league and in a quarter final, what more do the Newcastle fans want"?  It boils my piss when they conveniently use stats to suit them.  Not a word from them since.

bruce was forced to play matty and the loss of shelvey was also a massive bonus. it allowed us to play a lot further up the field.

The Liverpool game was one of those where the players want to play better on the big stage, nothing to do with Bruce. Liverpool were as poor as I've seen them in a few years, the match could have gone on for 4 more hours and neither side would have scored.

Fully expecting a return to normality and 3-0 loss today and Bruce scratching his head that the same team in the same formation couldn't get the same result.
