SUPERTOON
His turnaround and transformation is really not talked about enough. He’s genuinely brilliant, what an incredible job him and Howe have done.
La Parka
Honestly fair play to him. He's basically peak Viera.
Hanshithispantz
Moment of the match was Colback trying to challenge him on 20 minutes and just falling over as Big Joe casually turned inside. EDIT: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001b11h/match-of-the-day-202223-06082022 32:00 it's very, very satisfying to watch. La Parka
This thread has the same arc as Joe's nufc career!
David Edgar
He let one of their players cut inside from the right, which led to Schar needing to put in a block on Lingard, and I was genuinely amazed it had happened. It was so lazy from Big Joe compared to his new normal. Shows just how far he has come. Utterly dominant otherwise. Was a proper physical mismatch against those Forest midfielders. Didn’t scout him as a midfielder though did he ? Certainly not in the role he plays for us. I wouldn’t sell him he’s too important but that would be around the asking price. I'm dont think you can say he "let him". The ball was turned over quickly because ASM gave it away about 5 seconds before and Joelinton was out of position, still tried to win the ball back but just couldn't get his foot to it. Like you say it's incredible how obvious it is when someone now does manage to get past him because it's such a rarity. He's worth probably just over the £40m we paid now in this current market as a box to box destroyer. But his value to us is far more than that. David Edgar
Rafa said that he liked Joelinton but not as a £40m striker. Doesn't mean that Rafa would've used him as a CM. Probably had him in mind to play from the wing. Would've done a solid job there as well.
Fantail Breeze
He was brilliant, again. He absolutely bullies shite teams like.
Holloway
He gets mentioned by opposing fans so much more often now, he's becoming so commanding now. Watching that surging run into the box yesterday, I do wonder if he practises his shooting enough, he had the time to comfortably bury that and he snatched at it
Klaus
I don't know how to describe his style of play. He isn't just a hard nut DM, more like a box to box brute who can play as well his energy levels are insane.
loki679
Getting some love from the Villa fans too. People are starting to notice. Joelinton has been a revelation in midfield. Not sure Gerrard could have spotted that if in same boat https://www.villatalk.com/topic/22443-steven-gerrard/?do=findComment&comment=3860280

joeyt
He gives absolutely everything for the cause. I love him. Wish he'd scored from that run yesterday

HaydnNUFC
Class yesterday. He's an absolute tank, never gets pushed off the ball and always wins it when he uses his body and shields it.

Guest HTT II
He played forward balls much quicker too, as did the whole team. If he adds goals he could be the complete package, but he can’t shoot to save his life sadly. Loved how aggressive he was in terms of protecting his team-mates whenever they put a foul in on one our players or whenever he thought the ref got something wrong. Trippier and Burn do it a lot too as does Wilson. We have real leaders on the pitch now!
Pata
He's pretty unique due to his position change, midfield destroyers don't usually have the ability to dribble and make long carries like Joe does but because of his background as a forward it's natural for him. If only he could shoot.
