It was fun at first but most of the time it's just completely unnecessary. His legs are definitely going and we should be looking at a replacement.

I think he does the necessary stuff well like that last night he breaks up the play and rattles them. With his physicality turns the match into scrap which we know we will win. 😂

I hear it and mostly feel the same

But then I look forward which is where my frustrations come from

He’s literally dived in two feet at what 2/3 foot off the ground. It’s a red all day. It’s because it was such a weird tackle where his legs are so far apart it stopped it being a red. Think if Kudus though stayed down, VAR 100% would’ve stepped in. 
 

Don’t know why our fans are loving that challenge. It was idiotic and a symbolism of how he’s been this season, a mess. 
 

So often in games in final 10 we need composure, and it’s hard to in-still that he’s doing daft shit like that.

It can be seen as funny now because we won and he didn't get sent off (and because it was genuinely quite funny to watch). But if he gets sent off and Spurs somehow get back into the game then he'd be rightly getting a load of criticism, it was a stupid thing to do with little benefit beyond "imposing his physicality"

I do think he has been a bit off this season and for the last 2-3 seasons. It seems like he is always playing through a knock or three. 
 

But I think those almost writing him off are about as premature as Jim Levenstein was with Nadia. 
 

Ramsey is a much tidier footballer. But his frame and physicality are miles off Big Joe. Willock can’t really be trusted to stay fit and I don’t think Miley is as great as some like to make out.
 

We’ll have plenty of games in Europe, against the Sky Six and away to certain sides. Where Big Joe will be vital to us getting a result. 
 

He was actually very good on Saturday and much more measured and useful on the ball than he usually is. Just had a standard Big Joe head loss last night

Horrible challenge in terms of potential to do damage but ended up being fairly low risk with how high he went with both legs. He mistimes it a bit more or doesn’t get his legs as high and he snaps his knee ligaments pretty easily

It wasn't a red card, however the whole thing was two yellows really. A yellow for the tackle and a yellow for the pushing with Kudus, but you would very rarely see a red given like that.

You never get two yellow cards in the same incident, nah. 

 

Kudus actually was the one who should've been sent off for stop the break later in the game, that one was pure cowardice from the ref.

Agreed, just saying that both actions are a yellow card on paper and the refs should really give two yellows in that instance but yes it never happens. 

 

Kudus probably was lucky with the second challenge, but the bar is always higher for a second yellow (wrongly).

I think this depth we have is actually going to prolong Joelintons career here.

 

Had we been relying on Joelinton, we would all get frustrated with him in the games where we need a little more quality on the ball. I also dont think Joelinton can keep his best physical levels for multiple games on the spin. Its not like Bruno where even if hes at 90% he will add class on the ball. 

 

Joelinton will get plenty of game time but can also be rotated out of the team. Hes also incredibly useful tactically, when we need an emergency wing back or if we have a man sent off and need someone whos capable of doing two jobs off the ball.

 

Id rather have 100% Joelinton for the games he plays than 80% every week, when hes not quite the same player.

We’d be screaming for a red if someone did that to Bruno or Tonali though.

It was a genuinely terrible challenge, I was pissed off when it happened. Just no need for it.

 

But with Big Joe the odd horrendous tackle comes as part of the package. When he tries to play football he can look surprisingly deft.
