Guest dabe
Ah dear #43, we hardly knew ye, thanks for the memories #Bellingham. Another nail in the bacon coffin, throwing this guy under the bus with his snide public comments.
Nattfare
Maybe he might have been more interested in stay if he had been given more match time, Steve. Like more than Nabil Bentaleb for example.

Robster
Well then, Matty. You staying or gone already? I know what I'd be doing if I was him. Honestly, who the hell wants to actively play for our club. I just can't work it out.

TheInfiniteOdyssey
So bleak knowing this sentiment will be rampant among our fanbase Scapegoating the young, local lad for being 'greedy', instead of holding the ruinous regime to account
AyeDubbleYoo
Fans always have a very difficult relationship with player wages. We’re desperate for good players, cheer them to the rafters, then say they shouldn’t try to get the best deal they can. We we sign a player, we never say he should’ve stayed at his old club. Guest
I’ve still no idea how good or bad the Longstaffs are going to be but it sends the wrong message.

Do we even know it's just about money for him too? It's more likely that he's lost confidence in the viability of his development pathway, with Bentaleb (an appalling player) and a CB played ahead of him. He's only had one start all 2020. jarralad
Hope his career tanks from this moment on wards, gone are the days when you would give your left arm to play for your local team. If he wasn't willing to accept 20 grand a week then fcuk him.

La Parka
Yeah fuck that. Not even going to wish him luck.20k a week is too much for anyone to live on anyway. A nurses annual wages every 8 days or so.

St1pe
Given our transfer budget will be almost zero and we’re unlikely to sign Bentaleb. Surely it would make sense for his career to sign a deal here as he’s almost guaranteed Premier League games given our squad. It would have been worse for him if the takeover happened. Menace
I can bet you now him or Sean will amount to fuck all. It will be interesting what his next move will be, I don't blame him jumping ship either. Fuck playing for Bruce.
Ketsbaia
Not going to dwell on this because I don't think Matty is particlarly good and he's 4th/5th choice in one of our weakest positions. But there's no point in letting him go for free.
Chapo
Never heard Colback piss and moan like a greedy scrote, pity Matty didn’t take note from a real local lad.
Keggy_Keagal
Unfortunately at Newcastle United we've a long tradition of letting decent young players go. Put yourself in Longstaff's shoes. His manager is Steve Bruce who's decided a centre half in Schar and a poor looking Bentaleb (who incidentally if we're on about being committed to the cause, how does that work for loan players ?) is keeping him out the team. I can't blame anyone wanting to leave this mess at the moment and every message he's been getting from the club and from his manager is essentially that we don't rate you as much as we rate several other players. midds
Just as well his replacement will cost nothing and play for free. Could have been in a bit of a pickle there, phew.
