Matty Longstaff (now playing for Toronto FC)

Ah dear #43, we hardly knew ye, thanks for the memories #Bellingham.

Another nail in the bacon coffin, throwing this guy under the bus with his snide public comments.

Fans always have a very difficult relationship with player wages. We’re desperate for good players, cheer them to the rafters, then say they shouldn’t try to get the best deal they can.

We we sign a player, we never say he should’ve stayed at his old club.

Do we even know it's just about money for him too?

It's more likely that he's lost confidence in the viability of his development pathway, with Bentaleb (an appalling player) and a CB played ahead of him. He's only had one start all 2020.

Hope his career tanks from this moment on wards, gone are the days when you would give your left arm to play for your local team.

If he wasn't willing to accept 20 grand a week then fcuk him.

Is it not more about ambition? If he thinks he can improve elsewhere he’d be stupid to stay.

Do you enjoy living in the metropolitan city of Sports Direct ?

Given our transfer budget will be almost zero and we’re unlikely to sign Bentaleb. Surely it would make sense for his career to sign a deal here as he’s almost guaranteed Premier League games given our squad. It would have been worse for him if the takeover happened.

Unfortunately at Newcastle United we've a long tradition of letting decent young players go. Put yourself in Longstaff's shoes. His manager is Steve Bruce who's decided a centre half in Schar and a poor looking Bentaleb (who incidentally if we're on about being committed to the cause, how does that work for loan players ?) is keeping him out the team. I can't blame anyone wanting to leave this mess at the moment and every message he's been getting from the club and from his manager is essentially that we don't rate you as much as we rate several other players.
