Also surely VAR checked it as well? Didn’t see any var check, might be wrong though. They check every goal and every incident in the box. They're bound to be checking something as massive as a red card. These are checked automatically and the referee is informed that he may want to stop the game for a second if they think theres something, which is when you see the pause and the VAR check thing on the big screen.
