Burnley vs Newcastle United Saturday 14th December (Kick Off 3pm No TV)

Recommended Posts

Rafa masterclass last season if I remember correctly.  Maybe under heavy pressure second half?  Might be confusing the season prior...

2-0 up after 20 mins, with an own goal and Clarke goal. Ended up 2-1 win - held on a little but deserved overall.

It was a lot more comfortable than you suggest and it felt at the time.

Burnley did nothing with the possession that they had, the supply was cut off completely in midfield.

Will we keep the same formation for this or slightly tweak?

Same formation you'd think Carroll up front, and Joelinton supporting him with Almiron.

Or a possible 5-3-1-1? Could have the full-backs providing the width, bring in Longstaff for a midfield 3 and either Joelinton or Almiron playing off Carroll?

We've won every away game we've been ahead at half time - an early goal could be key for us.

Let's beat them at their own game:

--------------Blob----------------

Kraft--Lascelles--Clarke--Dummett

Longstaff-Hayden-Shelvey-Ritchie

-----------Carroll--Gayle-----------

Interesting, particularly as Lascelles is out injured until January....Were you planning on playing Matt Ritchie as well?

It's simple. We drop ASM (whose injured anyway) Joelinton as he couldn't score to save his life, Miggy as he's lost the plot.

We then play any of our centre-backs up front.

When did an injured player stop Bruce from playing him? Did it twice with ASM already. They'll run it off I'm sure, especially for the proper British players that doesn't go into a coma when a finger nail breaks.
