After a 17 goal season last year it would have seemed mental from the outside to flog him, but in hindsight we could have got our money back and funded a new striker 10 years younger. Being able to formulate some plan around actually having a forward playing would be a blessed relief nevermind how unbalancing it is across the team. Nobody is going to give him a two year contract thatll even match his one years worth of wages here. He's done well to get to 32 with his injuries really. We need another striker next season like, especially if we do make Europe. Wilson will be third choice for the last year of his contract where he'll hopefully be able to have an impact in the odd game/off the bench. His fitness cant be relied on for anything more. EDIT: this is wrong as I forgot to count the rest of this season's fixtures as ones he'd miss. So it would be 103 missed out of 179 and therefore 57.5%. So yeah, more than half. He seems finished in this league/in a team that plays the way we do. Massive shame, as he’s still a top finisher and a decent centre forward. Just never available. Isak is a worry. But I don’t think his career has been plagued by injuries thus far, in the same way Wilson’s has. If we got some rotation going and Isak wasn’t ran into the ground as often. Then that might help.
